Z-fold bunny

Calling all Crafters,

PINspirational has a new post out today! Meaning, there is a new challenge for your creative minds to try. But before I get to the challenge here is my card for today, enjoy!

This is my first Z-fold card.
It seemed appropriate for a little bunny blowing in the breeze.

Above: I wanted to keep the color palette in the green family like our inspiration pin. Left/Below: This is the first fold of the card. I directly added Versamark ink and clear embossing powder. The contrast is fantastic. Right/Bottom: This is the final fold of the card leaving room for a personal message. The butterflies were cut from the same patterned paper and scattered throughout the card for a bit of whimsy.

Well, thank you again for taking time out of your busy day to visit my corner of the internet. I do hope you will join us at (PIN)spirational and play along. Until then take care and we will see you soon!

Second Life

Hello Everyone,

Today starts a new challenge at The Male Room. Our challenge theme for the next coming weeks is about RECYCLED objects, themes, and/or phrases. We want to see what your interpretation of this theme. Just remember, to keep it masculine. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

As you can probably tell the objects I chose to recycle are the rectangular embellishment and the distressed circle element under the 'U'. The 'be you' sentiments are wooden that was coated with embossing powder in red and brown.

Above: Ironically, making a masculine card took two recycled embellishments from a church jewelry sale. One was a pendant and the other an earring.
Left/Below: The distressed red circle was an earring probably from the 80's. I thought it would make a perfect retro embellishment on this masculine card. Right/Bottom: I die cut the diamonds using distressed paper and foam for a bit of dimension. Distressing was done with nearly every element on this card.

Well, that should do it for me. If you haven't already done so, hop on over to The Male Room to see other inspirational cards by our talented design team. It is surely going to spark some ideas and then join our challenge. Looking forward to seeing you!! Until then, take care and happy stamping!

A horse, of course

Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with Freshly Made Sketches and The Color Throwdown challenges. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

For me, purple is one of the more challenging colors to get right.
I was very careful not to be too pink or too blue or too brown.
I think it turned out well.
I added a bit of texture by dry embossing the trees and then sanding it down to
partially expose the white core.

The horse is stamped on watercolor paper and color applied
with an aqua brush and ink pad.

Rosey Roses

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to TheGrandStampede! Today I am going to show you some inspiration for your MHKDesigns digital stamps. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Some of you may know my style by now. I like to enlarge images and take pieces from it to create a card. This design is no exception. Enlarging the rose gives the image a whole new look.

The inspiration comes from our new release set:
Valentine Roses

I invite you to check out her Etsy store and see for yourself
the versatility of stamp sets and the variety of digital papers we have to offer
______________________________

I do enjoy the white space with minimal distractions.
The sentiment banner and the single heart embellishment seems to be just enough to enhance the design.
The watercolor effect is all digital.
I used the main stem of the rose as a literal divider then reversed the background on either side.
I encourage you to stop by the MHKDesigns blog to see more inventive ideas from our design team, and then play along with our monthly challenge, or just enjoy a bit of eye candy.

There is a lot more to discover at MHKDesigns Etsy Shop! Stop on over and see what we have to offer. It is certain to spark the imagination. So, thank you for stopping by and hope to see you soon. Take care and happy crafting.

All the best,

In Stitches

Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with The Paper Players and Time Out challenges. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Colorfully stitched and festive panel adorns this birthday card. Jennifer McGuire was featuring this die and thought it was fascinating and had to check it for myself.
Please correct my terminology, but instead of a full cross stitch, I decided to only do a half stitch. It was easier, faster, and thought it looked like little chevrons.
A simple stitched diecut vellum circle lays behind the sentiment.

 Challenges Entered:
The Paper Players: PP381- Sew Much Fun
Time Out challenge: 103- Hobbies
[I chose cross stitch]

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

Floral Piecing

Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with Inkspirational, The Flower Challenge, and Stamping Sensations. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I stamped the stained glass image five times on different patterned paper.
Then stamped on the adhesive side of my sticker paper.
I am now set up for paper piecing.
Above: The stamped 'stained glass' image is the focal point of the card. I wanted to use limited embellishments and small sentiment to enhances the image. The white on white embossing is also a nice feature, not distracting, but adding to the design. Left/Below: A detailed view of the focal image. I wanted color continuity without too much thought, so I pulled out a paper pack. The colors in the pack all coordinate which made color matching a snap. Right/Below: I wanted to think about the aperture a bit differently than just adding a hole in the card. So, I added a big hole in the card 😉 and decided to fill it in with a border and the focal image. The aperture seems to allow the black border and focal image to 'float' in the window and let light onto the card. I think it turned out beautifully.

Circular White

Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with CAS on Friday, AAA Cards, and Cupcake Inspirations. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Die-cuts were the name of game for this card.
I die-cut the circles using SSS product and the sentiment is a wooden die-cut that I embossed in white.
I left the edges of the sentiment untouched for a bit more dimension.
The monochromatic theme really sets this card off. Clean and simple design allows this card to shine.
Literally, shine!
The background paper is shimmer paper. I added it because it was fun, and yet still, very elegant.

Tangled Hearts

Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with Pattie's Creations, Cards in Envy and Creative with Stamps. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The dangling hearts is a digital stamp from Pattie's Creations.
I enlarged the dangles to cut off the page. I think it gives it a new and different look to this popular stamp.
The bokah backdrop and color choice were done digitally using Adobe's brushes and gradient effects. The hearts were colored manually using Copic markers.
The sentiment comes from a free digi I snagged online. Again by enlarging it and cutting off the edge it gives the banner an artistic quality.
Challenges Entered:
Patties Creations: Theme #143- Love is in the Air
Cards in Envy: Give It Some Heart
Creative with Stamps: Challenge #23- Heart
