Butterfly

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with Addicted to CAS, and AAA Cards. Their theme is one layer with a photo inspiration twist. Love it... But for all CAS cards, I do find them well... Challenging. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

One layer card utilizing the corner of the space, leaving the rest untouched and white.
The flowers were stamped using a light yellow color. I then added dimension by shading the flowers.
The butterfly was simply stamped in black dye ink then colored using Copic markers. The hello was stamped using the same ink.
I love these flowers! It looks like watercolor but it was all done using Copic and other alcohol markers. The background was done by blending earth-like colors and using a bit of stipple for dimension.

Deco with Color Throwdown

Hello Everyone,

Today I am the guest designer for the Color Throwdown! So excited to be here and more importantly I am excited about the color challenge this week. But first, here is my card for today, enjoy!

I saw this color palette and immediately thought of Art Deco. The geometric design, use of nature, and later, bright vibrant color, is what inspired me to create this card. The gold and aqua colors are what really got me thinking along this line. I think I managed to stay true to the Art Deco style.

Challenge #598

Above: The moth was heat embossed using Princess Gold powder by Ranger. I colored the moth using a mixture of Mexpy and Copic alcohol markers. I added a bit of dimension by fussy cutting the moth and adding foam tape for lift. I really like the way the shadows land on the white CS. Left/Below: The panel behind the moth shows the sentiment and banner. The banner was colored in the same colors as the moth and the sentiment was stamped in dark brown. Right/Bottom: Now this is where it gets interesting. The aqua CS was done by dry debossing the pattern in the cardstock. I then evenly added Versamark to the raised part of the embossing plate pattern, trying to make sure to get ink only on the raised pattern. I then used the same technique as before and ran it through again. I added the Princess Gold powder and heat set. I really enjoy how it turned out.

Message from Floor

Hello Everyone!

First off, I want to start by translating the sentiment for those who cannot read English. It states: If you fall, I'll be there. -Floor. Now onto the rest of the post.

For today I playing along with The Color Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Of course, these stamped squares represent a tile floor. Hence, the funny sentiment.
The black panel behind the sentiment anchors the white sentiment square nicely.
The stamp set is from Altenew titled Dare to Dream. It took me a while to line up the images but when I did it was a blast! Each panel was die-cut and edges distressed. I then stamped some crackled texture on the tile with light gray ink. It is hard to see in the pics but in reality, it really gives it a sense of real tile.
My husband saw this sentiment on FB a couple of years ago and he thought it would make the perfect card! I made the card (here) a couple of years ago using the depiction of a wooden floor. This time I wanted to use a tile floor.

Rainbow Hello!

Hello Everyone,

This is my second post for The Paper Players. Why? I love rainbows! They are so happy and cheerful. The sight of them always makes me happy. Here is my card for today, enjoy!!!

The sun, lower cloud, and sentiment are part of one stamp from Stampendous. The rainbow and clouds are from a separate die set. Combining the two creates a wonderful, cheerful scene.

Amazon.com: Stampendous Wood Stamp, Sunny Hello: Arts, Crafts & Sewing
To explain in clearer terms I am going to call this 'the sun' stamp throughout my post.
I thought it would be confusing to say the sun, cloud, and sentiment stamp.

I stamped the sun first on the card base. This put the sunrays on its base with no interruption. I then added the rainbow diecut and stamped the sun again. The sun rays line up perfectly with the card base.

Finally, I stamped the sun again on a separate piece of cardstock, fussy cut the sun and cloud, colored it, and added it to the card. The cloud on the side is from the rainbow die cut set.

Rainbow Just Because

Hello Everyone,

For today I will be playing along with The Paper Players. Rainbows have to be one of my favorite themes for a card. They are cheery and so happy. Just what we need for this time. Here is my card for today, enjoy!!!

This card is made from one die cut. One is turned 180 degrees from the other diecut. I do enjoy the pulled in feeling you get when observing this card. One diecut was laid on the base I then colored the ovals and added two more layers for dimension.

The layered diecuts really add to the visual dimension of the card.
The actual shadows really add to the visual illusion.

The card can really be for any occasion. That is why the 'just because'.
I had to make a custom envelope since the dimensions are 4.5" x 6".

After I was done I took a step back to look at it and it reminded me of a twister game.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. Lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. I hope you all have a fantastic day and please stay safe and healthy.

Toolbox

Hello Everyone,

For today I will be playing along with If You Give a Crafter a Cookie, Watercooler Wednesdays,  Cardz 4 Guys, and Tuesday Throwdown. Here is my card for today, enjoy!!!

I saw this idea on Pinterest and thought it would be perfect for my husband on Father's Day. The 'drawers' are so creative!

Layers of tools, bits, and parts plus a 'best dad ever' message seem to be the essence of my husband. I bought him a sign that says 'don't even LOOK at these tools!'. I thought it was funny because it is ME that is always rummaging around his tool bench.

On the back of the cardbox is a stamp from Stamppeddler that features a well-organized pegboard. This is a partial image from a larger stamp (shown below). Perfect fit for my toolbox theme.

New - Peddlers Pack Dad's Workshop Tools Background Mounted Rubber ...
The entire image of the stamp.
Stamppeddler is selling this background stamp and bundling it with four charms!
AND free shipping.

These are the flaps on each side of the toolbox. It is hard to see but a background on the 'I love you' sentiment is light stamped with a 'blah, blah, blah' image. We say I love you to our teenagers every day and some days I think all they hear is blah, blah, blah. That is why we tell them this multiple times a day.

A Message Within

Hello All,

I hope this message finds everyone well and happy. For me, Spring has sprung which helps make me a bit happier. I have also been asked once again, to be the guest designer for The Male Room! I jumped at the chance because I do enjoy creating male themed cards and I love this challenge blog and its team of talent. This time they have a sketch for inspiration. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I am not one to make square cards but when a challenge is given then you should stretch your limits and give it a try. I did design out of my comfort zone and I like the result.

Above: The color scheme is very neutral and muted. Except for the standout orange ribbon. I think it brings the entire card together. Left/Below: Open the flap from the present to reveal a message of holiday cheer. Right/Bottom: You can see from this pic the card has a bit of lustre and sparkle. Yes, sparkle on a male themed card is okay, I think. You will see the sparkle on the ribbon.

Well, that is all for me!! I want to thank The Male Room again for this amazing opportunity to be their guest designer this fortnight. I also want to thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to join me at TheGrandStampede. If you are new to my blog, please consider following me to get all my postings.
