You&Me

Hello All,

Another challenge at Color My Heart Color Dare! For this challenge, you must use the colors that are specified. Remember black, white, and silver are free. So what does this color palette spark? An occasion, an image, or maybe something in nature. For me it sparked butterflies. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Today is our 20th wedding anniversary. I made this card from a new to me but older SU stamp set. I liked the background text coordinating with the bold text. It is hard to see but I promise you will see it in the close-up shot.

Now for our challenge!

The horizontal border was stamped once then I flipped the cardstock and stamped it again. This is a fantastic way to know you are getting symetry and balance on both sides.

You can see the background text under the bold text. I stamped it using contour ink from HA. It is very light but dark enough to frame the bold sentiment.

Well, thank you again for taking the time out of your busy day to visit my corner of the internet. I do hope you will join us at Color My Heart Color Dare and play along.

Lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. I hope you all have a fantastic day and please stay safe and stay healthy. Until then take care and we will see you soon!

Cupcakes

 Hello Everyone,

For today I will be playing along with Twofer Card Challenge and AAA Birthday. Their challenge word was well.... challenging; the word, cupcakes. Here are my cards for today, enjoy!

When you think of cupcakes the first thing that comes to mind is a birthday. For me, it was nothing else. How am I going to showcase two cards with the same image that has different occasions/themes? Okay Twofer, game on!!

First Card
Theme: complete snark!

This is an all-occasion card that can be used for any foodie, baker or anyone who likes to eat. I found this sentiment stamp and laughed out loud! The card features a cupcake full of frosting, but when you lift the flap it reveals the muffin, and the wonderful 'You're Welcome' sentiment presents itself.
.
It is also a traditional top folding card where I can put my equally snarky message. I added a shimmery cardstock to the back of the card for dimension and even more interest.

Second Card
Theme: Birthday

So here is the traditional birthday card that features the cupcakes from the first card that are colored using ROY G BIV color scheme.

The 'Hey Cupcake' was stamped using VersaMark Ink then sprinkled a tiny amount of powder for each color. I then used VersaMark again this time, white powder and set.

The Second Card

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. Lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. I hope you all have a fantastic day and stay crafty my friends.

All the best,

Ocean Wave

Hello All,

Today I will be playing along with The Male Room, Color Throwdown, and Freshly Made Sketches. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This is a one-layer card featuring layered stamping. There is a lot of movement and energy to this card. I can actually hear the ocean wave! Ahhh... Relaxing.

The stamp set is from The Ton. It has three stamp layers in colors that I used from Color Throwdown. The little ocean sliver on the bottom of the card is my favorite. I think it gives anticipation to what the wave will do with that calm water.

Like I said lots of energy! I thought this sentiment set the mood for the card perfectly.

Challenges Entered:
The Male Room: TMR#150
Color Throwdown: ctd643
Freshly Made Sketches: FMS486
As you can see I flipped the sketch on its side.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. Lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. I hope you all have a fantastic day and stay crafty my friends.

Color of Blooms

Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with As You See It Challenge and Just Us Girls. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

To me, Hyacinth is the essence of Spring. They are so beautiful and come in all the colors of the rainbow. This is a layering stamp set from Altenew I got quite a while ago. I am so glad I have the opportunity to use it for these challenges.

After the layered stamping, I die-cut the hyacinth and arranged
them to create a flowery happy scene.

The sentiment is what wraps this entire card together. My daughter thought it needed a punch against all the pastel colors. So I decided on die-cut letters and a 'sweet' sentiment would be just the thing it needed.

Challenges Entered:
I love most all flowers, but I must say Hyacinth is one of my favs.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. Lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. I hope you all have a fantastic day and stay crafty my friends.

Numbers Under the Sea

  Hello All,

Today I will be playing along with Mod Squad and The Male Room. I have a lot to talk about on this card. This post will be very similar to my other post here. What an effect, but of course you be the judge. So, without further ado here is my card for today, enjoy!

A quick disclaimer. These names, addresses, and phone numbers are from the commercial white pages. Meaning all numbers are advertised and public. I am not giving any personal information away. Plus, this phonebook is at least five years old.

So this is the phonebook page. When I want to iron off some embossing I go to the trusty phonebook, pick a page, and iron it off. That is exactly what I was doing when I thought of Mod Squad. I ripped out the page and found it translucent where I ironed off the embossing from the other project. This was so amazing and never saw anything like it.

This is the reflective paper I used for this card. It is like a mirror. In the corner of the paper, you can actually see my phone taking the picture. I thought the reflective surface would be a good fit for the translucent phonebook page.

To some, this stamped scene may be a familiar sight. It is from the Hero Arts MMHK for July 2020. I have been wanting to use it for quite a while. You will notice the phonebook theme is also part of the ruins of Atlantis. I distressed it by brushing on Hickory Smoke and Mermaid Lagoon on the image.

You can see the reflective paper through the pages.
Take a look at the video below to get a better idea of what I am seeing.

Challenges Entered:
Mod Squad: Feeling Bookish (3rd and last post)

Like I mentioned in my last post; I hope I explained the phonebook iron-off technique well enough for you to possibly use it. I am sure it will work on other types of paper just as long as it thin. If I was as clear as mud, please contact me and I'll explain further.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. Lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. I hope you all have a fantastic day and stay crafty my friends.

All the best,

Bottles

 Hello All,

Today I will be playing along with Freshly Made Sketches, The Color Throwdown, and Mod Squad. I have a lot to talk about on this card. So, without further ado here is my card for today, enjoy!

Father's Day is right around the corner so I thought it would be a perfect time to create one. You will notice the background paper is a bit unusual. That is because it is from an old phonebook. Remember those? You actually had to know your alphabet and spell what you are looking for correctly? Oh, my kids will never enjoy the frustration that comes with not being a good speller.

Above: A piece of patterned paper was perfect to place behind this page. You can sort of make out the pattern and see the phonebook page at the same time. Very cool effect. Left/Below: I stamped the bubbles and pops in gray then I had a piece of plastic that I die-cut into clear bubbles. I used glue dots on top of the stamped bubbles to adhere to the plastic. Right/Bottom: The cap from the brown bottle seems to be falling away from the bottle as it pops and fizzes. Along with the bubbles, it creates a good sense of movement.
