Seashells

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with Color Throwdown. Their palette this week is awe inspiring. When I thought about the colors I thought about seashells. Here is my card for today, Enjoy!

The shell background was stamped in charcoal ink then
colored using PrismaColor pencils. I blended four colors for color and depth.
Added a bit of sparkle with some sequins.
Washi tape creates the banner for the sentiment.
I thought the sentiment would be perfect for this type of card.
I also added the flourish shell for a bit more charm.
The stippling around the shells adds the texture of sand.

Yesterday my daughter turned ten. It seems hard to believe that ten years ago I held a baby that we so desperately wanted and loved so much. She has surpassed every expectation I had for her; she is kind, thoughtful, creative and slapstick funny! Ten years ago I had to start sharing my daughter with the world and I'm glad I did; because I believe the world is a better place with her in it. Happy Birthday sweet girl!

All the best,
Shawna

Well my new stamp is in the background of the card. It is a set from Stampin' Up! called Awesomely Artistic and along with this set I have received new dies. These are also from Stampin' Up! and it is located in the Occasions catalog called Cups & Kettles. Oh what fun it is to work with new stuff! I encourage you to do the same. I found crafting tonight that using new things seems to refresh the old things.

That should do it for me, off to bed I go. I am looking forward to seeing your creations at Make My Monday. Take care and thank you so much for stopping on over to see me.

The pink background paper is also from MHKDesigns.
All I did was distress the edges a bit.
The globe was printed out in grayscale then
I colored over the gray with PrismaColor pencils in various earthy colors.
I was hoping the topography vague enough to be nondescript.
The ocean is outlined with various shades of blue and green leaving the middle white.

Entering Challenges:

Using past color challenge: 75 - Use rose shades of red and /or pink. You may also use green leaf colors.

When I was a little girl, and I mean little, I lived on Magnolia Drive in New Jersey, USA. I don't remember too much, but what I do remember was every spring I would see tons of magnolia trees lining our street in full bloom. I remember loving how pretty our neighborhood looked. I remember not liking the smell too much, but the color was incredible, for about two weeks. After that, all the petals fall off and it looks as if snow had just fallen to the ground. So as I was making this card I was reminiscing about being a child and how magical things were back then. Childhood, what a wonderful experience!

I do hope you will join us at (PIN)spirational. Until then take care and see you there!

All the best,
Shawna

Daring Fantastical Sketch

Hello Everyone,

For tonight I am playing along with Daring Cardmakers, Sketch Saturday, and Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blogs. Three challenges, one card; let's see how I brought all of them together.. Here is my card for tonight, enjoy!

The aqua-green backdrop for the sentiment was made a year ago using the shaving cream technique. I can still smell the shaving cream. Check out the flex of blue! Perfect for this card!
The red flowers just pop off the aquamarine and white backdrop.
This color combination is just outstanding!!
Above: detail of the hexagons and flowers.
Below: You will see some of the shine I introduced. Shimmery seafoam green, lustery silver,
and shiny blue all come together to form a crisp backdrop for the whimsical flowers

Entering challenges:
Daring Cardmakers: Elementary Inspired (Color, Texture, Shine)
Sketch Saturday: Week #394 by Lesley
Fantasy Stampers: Challenge #53- Happy Birthday

It is my daughter's birthday in two weeks and I think this might be her birthday card. She is turning ten!! Incredible how time flies!! I know she loves the colors, because she saw me in the process of making it. I guess I better hide it for the time being. Thank you to all the blogs for the fantastic inspiration.

It is that time again to thank you so much for stopping by my little corner of the internet. I do appreciate your time you spend with TheGrandStampede. Until next time take care.

All the best,
Shawna

Pretty in Pink...White & Gray

Hello Everyone,

For tonight I am playing along with Cupcake Inspiration, Little Tangles and again with Less is More. I can say I used my flourishes twice now.. Improvement.. Here is my card for tonight, enjoy!

I wanted the design to look Zentangle'ish and I am still undecided
whether it was a success or not.
Teardrops are from a retired stamp set from Stampin' Up!, flourish stamp is from Inkadinkado. The color inspiration works so nicely with the one layer card CAS design. I enjoy how it turned out.

Entering Challenges:
Less is More: Week 258- flourish
Cupcake Inspiration: CIC 342- color challenge
Little Tangles: Challenge 64- Hello

"Less is More"

I am unhappy to say that I am not the winner of the $1.5 billion dollar Powerball jackpot.. UGH! Well I did have a 2.92million to one chance of winning.. I guess you have to be in it to win it.. If 2.92million to one are my odds, well then, so be it.. You never know!! I just read you have more of chance of getting struck by lightening while drowning then hitting this jackpot! With that said if no-one wins tonight, I'm out... 20 bucks is too much to just throwaway. For that amount money I could have gotten a fantastic stamp set!

I am going to cash it in for tonight (get it?). Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to join me and I will see you soon.

All the Best,
Shawna
