Oceans Delight

Hello Everyone,

For today I am entering one card into four challenges; Just Us Girls, Sweet Stampin', and The Paper Players. Each challenge was very important for this design. Here is my card for today, enjoy.

The crashing wave was actually so easy to make it made me laugh. All you so stamp
some Gorgeous Grunge and heat emboss it white. The Memory Box die cut waves are made of vellum
for translucency. The shells are so delightful with this scene.
As you can see the layout from The Paper Players is represented by the three neutrals, main focal point image
and banner. All I did was condense it a bit.

Details showing the swirls and pearls! The three pearls at the corner of the sentiment added the perfect amount of embellishment. And again a close up of the shells colored using PrismaColor colored pencils.

Challenges Entered:
Just Us Girls: Photo Week- #336
Sweet Stampin': Swirls and Pearls
The Paper Players: PP288

Swirls and Pearls
A few years ago my family went to Cape Cod Massachusetts to visit my mother. There we got a personal tour of the local waterways, sea wildlife, and Shelly Island! Well that is what my daughter coined the island. This place was incredible! The entire island was chuck full of complete hardly damaged shells. They were just laying around in heaps and piles all done by nature. It was shell overload for myself and my children. Thank goodness we didn't fly home because we took our weight in shells with us!

It was a magical place for all and I am sure some of you have even visited 'Shelly Island'. Making this card brought back these memories and all I could do was smile.

Thank you so much for joining me at TheGrandStampede. I do hope you enjoyed your visit. If you feel so inclined to leave a message that would be great! If not that is fine too, I am just happy you dropped by.. Have a great day and until next time, take care.

All the Best,
Shawna

Ahoy!!

Hello Readers,

For today I am writing on behalf of PINspirational to announce a new challenge for the next two weeks. Here is my inspiration card, enjoy...

This is the funniest stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. It is snarky enough to laugh
and the humor is kept clean. I thought this stamp set would a fantastic compliment to the sponsor image.

ROY G BIV... Birthday

Hello Readers,

For today I am playing along with Freshly Made Sketches. It is very colorful and perfect for a birthday card. Here is my card for today.. Enjoy!

Unusual color layout. stenciled circles using Distressed Inks
(Barn Door, Musturd Seed, and Salty Ocean)
Raising the squares to create a bit more interest and
accentuate the sketch.
Close up of the diamonds. The circles were sponged all together then I die cut them
Using the negative space the die cut left behind,
it made for a nice template to place my diamond.
Challenges Entered:
Freshly Made Sketches: FMS229

I love rainbows.. In fact when I was a little girl my room was a pastel rainbow color. That is of course until I was a teenager and had to have all my Led Zeppelin posters covering my walls. And of course completely messing up my rainbow decor. There was one poster that was a rainbow AND feely. Humm let me check to see if I can find it.. Hold on... 1min. 37sec. later...

and there we have it!! Oh my goodness...

Anyway I do hope you have a great day and hope this may have sparked some memories of your childhood room.. I certainly did the trick for me..

All the best,
Shawna

Nesting

Hello All

Yet another challenge post.. This post I will be playing with The Card Concept. Their pink eggs nestled in a little nest was enough inspiration to make me want to play. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The 'nest' may look familiar to some of you. It is usually used a wreath but I thought it would
also make a wonderful nest for our pink eggs.
Heat embossed white using a stencil with pigment in
and white powder.
I decided to frill the Easter banner. I feel if I didn't it would get lost.
plus it adds a bit of interest.
 Challenges Entered:
The Card Concept: #51- Naturally Pink

Easter is behind us but the season of hope is still in the air. It is this time of year where the seasons change, days get longer, and the rain starts to sprinkle all the plants. Spring break is coming up and we have nothing planned.. Well maybe a road trip or two but other then that we are going to go with it this year. Happy Spring everyone in the Northern Hemisphere.

I hope you enjoyed your visit and I want to thank you yet again for visiting me. Until next time take care and we will see you soon.

All the best,
Shawna

After I finished this card my daughter asked if she could have it.. I told her there is no better person to receive this card then her. She beamed and hugged me tightly. That hug was so special and of course put me on cloud nine.

Lucky Charms

Hello Friends!!

For today I am playing along with Shopping Our Stash. I have never joined in before so please be patient. Here is my card for tonight, enjoy!

This shaker card is meant hint at the cereal box 'Lucky Charms'.
The kraft paper is for the inside of the box and the red border the outside.
I really enjoy the sentiment. Kind of all jumbled
up like the cereal in the box.

Details showing the charms and the shaker elements.

Challenges Entered:
Shopping Our Stash: SOS#23-  Oh my Lucky Charms!

Okay, so I am designing this with one thing on my mind.... Well two! One is eating an entire box of Lucky Charms and the song 'Lucky Charm' from Madonna (sorry in advance for the earworm). But it also brought me back to my time as a child eating this yummy cereal waiting to get the crunchy marshmallow and then off to school without brushing my teeth (of course). Some of you may remember when there was a prize at the bottom of the cereal box!! Oh yeah! I went right to the prize only to find out my sister got it before me.. ugg... Oh the memories we all hold. Try to conjure up a memory from the past and see how you feel.. If it is anything like me, I feel hungry..

Thank you so much for joining me again at TheGrandStampede... I do appreciate every visit even if you are stalking and don't want to comment there are no worries here.. I hope your day is magically delicious. Take care.

All the best,
Shawna

All I did was color the flowers, shaded a bit around the sentiment
and then cut around the petals to pop them off the page.
This is still a single printout.
Close up of the petals popping off the page.
Behind the petals you will find the gray mat color.
Yes, this is a single printout all laid out using a photo editing software. When I first started using digi stamps I thought you had to print out each element and put each element together to form your card. Then I wised up! Just pop any MHKDesign product into your software of choice and start playing around with the images, papers, and sentiments! After you done then simply print it out and add some finishing touches! So easy and so much fun.

The shop's stamp sets and papers are so versatile any image will go along with another stamp set, sentiment, or papers. This is why I love designing for MHKDesigns; you can mix and match and never run out of design ideas. So stop on over to MHKDesigns Etsy shop and see what is new and what is yet to be discovered.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope to see you at MHKDesigns blog and join our monthly challenge. No worries if you don't have any MHKDesign product yet, you can still play along. We will see you this month and looking forward to see what you create. Until then, take care.

All the best,
