Fairies and the Moon

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with Double D Challenges. This is my second submission. I really enjoy silhouettes and the effect they have on a card. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I love the fairy door hidden away in a magical forest.
The fairies enjoying a moonrise together, as all good friends do.
The silhouette works very effectively for this design.

Frankenstein couldn't have said it better. Friend. Good.
Right on Frank!!

Superimposed on the moon is a clock. It is there just
to be a bit more magical. I thought it was a nice touch.

Mothers Day Bouquet

Hello Again,

This is my last posting for The Paper Players, I promise. Their sketch was so inspiring that I had to make another card. Here is my second card for today, enjoy!

A lovely Mothers Day card full of blooms and color.
Using neutrals for the background really allowed the color to pop.
The sentiment is a premade label from Anne Griffin designed to run through
a heat machine and come out a beautiful bronze color
Lots of sparkle and luster adorn this Monther Day bouquet.
I am usually not a big symmetry fan, but I think in this case it works.

Here is a detailed photo out of the light showing such bright, rich colors.

HB2U

Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with The Paper Players. Here is my interpretation of their fantastic sketch, enjoy!

Lots of colors and movement are displayed in the design.
Yet, I believe it has a CAS feel because of the white space and bold use of color.

The color palette was dictated by the chevron paper.
These bold colors create a happy and cheerful birthday card.

This sentiment would not be possible without texting.
It is amazing how fast our language and the way we talk to each other is changing.

Giraffes

Hello Everyone,

Today starts another challenge at The Male Room. The theme these coming weeks are 'Many Legs'. In celebration of April, the giraffe, for finally giving birth. I have decided to include these gracious animals in my design. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Very simple one layer card featuring an adult giraffe and its baby.
Like I said above, this is my way of celebrating April's successful birth.
Her webcam can be found here.

I am really enjoying the white cloudy wisps.
I think it is just enough for this nature scene.
Beautiful sentiment for this card.
I think it would be perfect for a Fathers Day card;
especially if the recipient is an animal lover.

Wheelbarrow

Hello All,

Welcome to another challenge at PINspirational! Spring is springing and Mother's Day is right around the corner. It is also the start of gardening season. With that in mind here is my card for today, enjoy!

This card is so fitting for the season. The swing gate opens
(I'll get to that later)
to reveal the inside of the card.

Yes, I know, the card opens the wrong way.
My rationale was the handle of the wheelbarrow needed
to face the side you don't open.
So I got confused and now the gate swings the wrong way.
Oops!

A package of dimensional stickers was it took to fill the wheelbarrow.
I gave my daughter a few choices for the wheelbarrow and she chooses these stickers.
I must say great choice.
Well, that should do it for me. I hope you have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by my little byte of the internet. I do hope you will join us at PINspirational. It should be fun! Until then take care and happy crafting.

All the best,

Queen for a Day

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with Sunday Stamps. I have decided to create an unusual Mothers Day card. Take two on the sketch challenge have me the perfect opportunity to get it done. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I used minimal color for the stamped background.
This lack of color allows the royal color, purple, to stand out.
I really enjoy the layered sentiment panel.
All these crowns make for a very detailed card.
So die-cutting the white scallop
seemed an appropriate choice, and it matches nicely with the sentiment.

The sentiment went beyond the for the cut circle.
Nothing a bit of partial cutting wouldn't solve.
You can see the result turned out nicely.
This card has a bit of shimmer on the banner.
You will also find some royal purple glitter dots on this beautiful piece of patterned paper.
Every queen always needs some bling.

H2Ocolor on black II

Hello Again,

Some of you may be joining in The Male Room's challenge these coming weeks. Our theme this fortnight is 'Architecture'. This subject happens to be near and dear to my heart. Many of you know, but those who don't I graduated college with a bachelor's degree in the subject. For me, when it came to making a card for The Male Room I ran out of time... So I put a card on the site that was made a few years back. Still beautiful, it was not new and I felt terrible about it. So I decided to make a brand new design! So with my confession and chin up here is my card for today, enjoy!!

This was my first attempt watercoloring on black paper.
In this case, I use plain jane Crayola watercolor pads.
It worked well but required a lot of coats to get the color bright.

I didn't want to throw away the other cropped image of the stained glass. So, I used the remainder for the inside. I love this picture, it seems your brain puts the entire window together.
I really like this sentiment because it balances the card and the words are so fitting.

Now that conscience is clear I am going to go and work on other challenges. I will see you soon and thank you so much for stopping by TheGrandStampede. It has been a pleasure to show you my work. See you soon, take care, and happy stamping.

All the best,
Shawna
