Loud

Hello All,

For today i will be playing along with CASology. Their cue word, loud, was intriguing so i thought i would give it a try. Here is my card for today, enjoy.

I wanted to create a comic book feel to the card. I did that by adding a printed dot background and using these one word sentiments in different message bubbles.

One color was used for the sentiment grouping for more impact and to keep it CAS.
The primary yellow strips were added in keeping with the comic book feel.

I forgot to photograph the inside of the card. All I stamped was the smallest "HI" word I had in my stash. Point being the front of the card is so loud and the inside is just a meek little hello. I will photograph it soon. It is truly very funny.

Challenges Entered:
CASology: Week 250- Loud

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

Hello All,
For today I am going to play along with Make it Monday, Freshly Made Sketches, and City Crafter Challenge. Each challenge fostered the design process. What fun!! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This sunny card adorned
with pretty felt flowers feels
Crafting with felt always seemed unwieldy and messy. That is until I saw this video.

I enjoy the light,
bright quality of this card.

Butterfly Inlay

Hello Crafty Friends,

For today I am going to be playing along with The Paper Players. Their theme this week are CAS butterflies. Before I get into the details here is my card for today, enjoy!

Okay, okay, before you close this without a thought that it is CAS,
I would like to explain why I feel it is a CAS design.
Layers! Yes indeed. However, the border colors are minimal, basic, and bold.
The inlays on the butterfly are the same colors used on the border.
Thus, keeping it clean and simple.
Lots of white space and minimal embellishment.

The sentiment is was stamped and then colored to coordinate with the color scheme of the card.
Some of you may have noticed these colors are the same colors used for Just Us Girls.
Well, I just didn't get to them in time.
Bummer!

Now for the specifics. The butterfly inlay colors were not hard to create.
All you need to do is have a sticky base then when you cut the inlays just make sure they stay
in the die. Place the die on top of the sticky base and gently push the pieces into place.

Map

Hello Everyone,

Today is yet another day for a new challenge at The Male Room! These next coming weeks the challenge is all about die-cuts.. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Die-cuts are the main focus for this card.
Everything from the map, to the laid in state of Michigan,
to the prefabricated 'H' die-cut are die-cuts.

Theme- Stash

The background is watercolored using ArtMinds watercolor
using my absolute favorite colors; orange, blue, and brown.

I wanted the colors of the sentiment to match the colors you would
find on an old' fashioned paper map.
(remember that thing in your glove box with all the colors, lines, and legends. And is the same thing you could NEVER fold back to how it was before you opened it.) 😠
Challenges Entered:
CAS(E) this Sketch: CTS #222
Cards in Envy: Favorite color (ATG) card challenge

This card is actually not for a male at all... It is actually for a friend I haven't met yet!! We are going to meet Thursday and I thought I would give her a nice card; because you know, it wouldn't be a proper meeting without a card, right? She is actually a blog friend I met and happens to live a couple of miles away... WHAT!!?? So cool and I'm sure we will have a fun meeting.

Well, that should do it for me. I hope you enjoyed your stay but more importantly, I hope you join our challenge at The Male Room. Until then take care and happy stamping! Take care all and looking forward to seeing you at The Male Room!! Happy crafting!!

All the best,

Butterflies and Postage Stamps

Hello Crafty Friends,

I know I have been missing for the better part of two weeks, but I have been working feverishly on getting my crafty crap organized. So I thought I would come out of the woodwork and dust myself off to let you know PINspirational is starting a new challenge!! However, before I get to challenge I would like to share my card for today, enjoy!

This is as shabby chic as I get. I give crafters a ton of credit who can do it and do it well.
I wanted to add texture using images, shapes, and pop dots 😊.
As you see from the inspiration pin it is monochromatic.
This made it challenging for me; for the urge to add color was irrestible.

There is no sponsor for this challenge.
Deanne has decided to take a break from sponsoring.
So, this is just for fun and I'll choose Top 6, instead of Top 3!
__________________________

You can see some color was added. Dark blue and yellow are the only colors added.
The rest were done using textures and dimension.
A detail shot of all the elements that went onto the card.
I tried to be consistent by only working with one paper pack. This hopefully eliminates
any clashing that might occur.
Challenges Entered:
Addicted to Stamps Challenge: Challenge #148- Brads and/or Buttons

Are any of you crafters running out of room for all you crafty crap?
Well, I am!! I am trying to find new and inventive ways to store all my treasures and still keep them accessible AND visible... Any tips would be appreciated or I may drown in my own craftiness!!

Isn't this hilarious!!
To quote Homer Simpson:
'It's funny because it's true.'

Well, that should do it for me. I hope you enjoyed your stay but more importantly, I hope you join our challenge at PINspirational. Until then take care and happy stamping!

All the best,
Shawna

Spring Flowers

Hello,
For today I am entering Cards in EnvyRetro Rubber Challenge, and Inspired by the Little Things. Here is my card for today, enjoy!!

The shabby background was done by lightly stamping a wood grain pattern on aqua cardstock. I then layered aqua acrylic paint with a dry brush on the card.
The color theme for this card was unusually wonderful.
The garden flowers were stamped, painted, and then fussy cut.
This set is a retired set from SU called Fabulous Florets
I feel that it turned out very well and am happy with the result.

Challenges Entered:
Retro Rubber Challenge: #62- Theme Challenge #rrcb62
The Fabulous Florets stamp set was released in 2011. I got my crafty hands on it in 2014.

Graffiti Wall

Hello,

For today I am playing along with Addicted to CAS. What a challenge it was to make grunge CAS. 'Impossible' I thought, well it can be done. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Lots of white space surrounding the brick wall.
Just a few more splatters splash across the white area.

The background was done using Brusho's and a brick wall stencil.
I used the ombre effect on the wall as not to make it visually heavy.

The heart reminds of a tattoo on a burly man because everyone has a soft spot for mom.
The 'mom' sentiment was cut several times and then stacked on top of each other for a bit of dimension and shadow.
Challenges Entered:
Addicted to CAS: Challenge 110- Grunge

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.
