Pineapple Friend

Hello Crafty Friends,

For today I am playing along with Just Us Girls and Fusion. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I really do like the cheery and bright nature of this card.
Especially the watercolored pineapple
that was done using a Dreamweaver stencil (below).

Image result for dreamweaver stencils pineapple
Above: I complied with only the sketch for Fusion but I completely plan to do a glamping card!! So funny!! The colors on this card are bright and cheery perfect for my friend who adores pineapples! Left/Below: The pineapple is actually lightly embossed and then watercolored with an aqua pen. Right/Bottom: I tried to scale down the pineapple by fussy cutting it which left room for the luster pink circle and white flowers.

Challenges Entered:

The pineapple is known to symbolize hospitality. This particularly true in the southern United States. It can be seen on door knockers, planters, or around entrances where guests would enter. So why the pineapple? Back in colonial days, it was very hard to acquire. Only affluent hosts could afford to offer it to their guests, so the fruit became a symbol of generosity, hospitality and, of course, wealth. Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

School Colors

Hello Everyone,

Today's challenge at The Male Room is a bit unusual but still just lots of fun. The challenge is to use your school colors on your card! Well as you can tell my school colors are blue and white from the University at Buffalo. Here is my card for today enjoy!

Architects are always burning the midnight oil
and seem to survive on coffee. That is why the background
has these stains.

And when they get to the site the blueprints are always dog-eared.

Wildflowers

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today marks a new challenge over at PINspirational. Before we get to our challenge I would like to share my card, enjoy!

I used the spotlight technique with scalloped behind the kraft heart.
The vellum softened up the transition from kraft to white papers.

The sponsor is
Prize-4 digis

______________________________

I usually don't dig scallops too much but in this case, it is justified
because of the feminine nature of the card.
The kraft border also seems to frame the design nicely.

The white banner is perfect for this design.
It brightens up the heart so nicely.
Well, that should do it for me. I hope you have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by my little byte of the internet. I do hope you will join us at PINspirational. It should be fun! Until then take care and happy crafting.

All the best,
Shawna

Back to School

Hello Everyone,

For today I will be playing along with Freshly Made Sketches, City Crafter Challenge and Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge. The back to school theme is popular right now! So here is my card for today enjoy!

The back to school card was created with Freshly Made Sketches in mind. I thought the triangle shape would make an excellent compass. I also like the way it is layered on the card.
The chalkboard background was created by applying white ink to a paper towel and spreading it horizontally. I wiped it again with a clean towel for the final result.

Above: Visual texture is absolutely evident on the books. The apple provides texture with an embossed texture of a die cut I just didn't take the pieces off. Keeping them in provides lots of interest. Below/Left: I made these set of cards for the teachers tomorrow. After stamping the sentiment I stood back and thought, 'humm, that could be looked at few ways'. Hopefully, they perceived as words of encouragement. Bottom/Right: A detailed shot showing part of the set of cards.

Challenges Entered:
City Crafter Challenge Blog: Week 376- Back to School!

My kiddos are in bed awaiting tomorrow morning, the first day of school. Both are nervous and excited. As for me, it is bittersweet. It seems like yesterday when they were babies now my daughter is in middle school and my son in upper elementary. Time goes so quickly.

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

Hibiscus

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to enter several challenges- Curtain Call, CAS watercolour challenge, CAS on Friday and AAA Cards. All the challenges were so inspirational for this project. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

My salt technique is ever so subtle.
All I wanted to accomplish was the faint texture of sand.
A small simple sentiment goes nicely with the larger than life hibiscus.
I decided to reverse the Curtain Call photo and put the color in the background leaving the flower white. I think it really pops against these colors.
This teeny tiny flower might have missed your radar.
Masking with post it notes worked well this little flower. The rest of the flower was also masked off using repositionable adhesive from my Zyron. Rolled some paper through the machine so the back would have the adhesive. Stamped on it, fussy cut and placed it over the original.
 Challenges Entered:
Curtain Call: Hibiscus
CAS Watercolour: August 2017- Salt
AAA Cards: CAS Game- Masking
CAS on Friday: #115- One Layer Wonder

These flowers are so majestic and absolutely stunning! When discovering this flower I will usually stop and admire the sheer size of these things! And then there are the amazing variety of colors. Just awesome! Mother Nature sure knows what she's doing.

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

Pet Puns

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome again to our August release from MHKDesigns! For today we are featuring our 'Pet Puns' stamp set. This set is uplifting and humorous. It is sure to make anyone's day a bit brighter. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I used two images and a sentiment from this set.
I think it hilarious that the fish look so worried while the cat is thinking of a way to pounce

At first, I wasn't going to distress the edges but I felt it needed a border.

I love those cat's eyes with a look of determination on his face.
The fish bowl was colored using colored pencils. The same goes with the cat's eyes.

Thanks for stopping by today, friends! We will be back in a couple of days with another *NEW* set to share from the MHKDesigns Etsy shop! Don't forget to get all your comments in for your chance to WIN, and please do join our monthly challenge, as well! Until then, happy stamping!

Cheers Man!

Hello All,

Here to share with Y'all a new challenge at The Male Room. Our theme for the next two week is DRINK! Interpret our theme any way you'd like. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The cork sunburst adds a ton of texture. The cork die-cut was given to me during an online card exchange. I loved it and kept it for the better part of two years. I thought this card would be perfect for it.

Speaking of texture, don't you love those vellum bubbles?
So fizzy and fun! Left/Below: Again the fizzy bubbles that are probably my favorite part of having a  beer. Right/Bottom: The sentiment is comprised of three elements which I think go together very nicely. The 'hello' die-cut, The 'Man' came from patterned paper, and the 'happy birthday' was stamped and embossed.

Challenges Entered:
Creative with Stamps: Challenge #17- Boys to Men

Here in America, it is a right of passage turning 21! Oh yes, twenty-one is the magic age when you can drink alcohol (at least legally). So what better way to celebrate the transition from boys to men than being able to purchase and consume an 'adult' beverage. So, cheers to all you 'men' out there.

Well, that should do it for me. I hope you enjoyed your stay but more importantly, I hope you join our challenge at The Male Room. Until then take care and happy stamping! Take care all and looking forward to seeing you at The Male Room!! Happy crafting!!

All the best,
