Jungle Animals

Hello Everyone,

I will be playing along with City Crafter Challenge, CASology, and Curtain Call. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

These baby animals are so cute cuddling next to each other.
All I did was stamp the animal image on kraft paper and colored it using PrismaColor Pencils.

The sentiment was stamped in brick red directly on the kraft paper. I added the split banner to ground the animals and highlight the sentiment.
Challenges Entered:
City Crafter Challenge: Week 385- Jungle Animals

CASology: Week 272- Cherish

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

Lights, Camera,...

Hello All,

Today I will be playing along with AAA Cards and CAS Colours & Sketches. Both challenges, for me, were unusual. A movie theme with a unique sketch proved to be quite difficult. However, I managed it and came up with this card. Here is my solution, enjoy!

The lights of Hollywood illuminating the sky. This was done by adding color one line at a time with colored pencils on black cardstock. After many attempts I found this technique to work the best.
I didn't concentrate on a particular film but decided to concentrate on glamour and fame that comes with being in Hollywood.
It is hard to see but embossed in clear is the countdown to showtime. 3, 2, 1 can be found around the sentiment. Also, the film strip sentiment seemed very fitting for the theme of the card. I think it will make a fantastic encouragement card for a young woman or teen.

Autumn Owl

Hello Everyone,

For today I will be playing along with The Card Concept, Double D Challenge, and Inkspirational. I am enjoying Autumn here in Michigan and am so inspired by all the colors and textures! So, here is my card for today, enjoy!

The owl is sponged using Distress Ink and a stencil. The stencil is actually marketed for t-shirt stenciling but I thought this would make the perfect image for card making.
I realize it is hard to depict, but the owl is cut out and placed back on the same paper using dimensional adhesive. Also, the sentiment is from the same paper just flipped on its side.
Texture, texture, texture is what this photo is all about. The leaves are die-cut burlap that was painted using acrylic paint. The acorn was done inking the stamp with Tombow markers and stamping it using the MISTI.

This is exactly what I did using one of the clock images in the set. It makes for a dramatic and bold card.
The belated birthday panel is framed using PP. It gives the sentiment a place to rest and frames it very nicely too.

All the Best,

Beware

Hello Everyone,

Today starts a new challenge at The Male Room. Our challenge for the next two is all about Silhouettes! So, without further ado here is my card for today, enjoy!

The spider and web are the perfect silhouettes for this challenge and time of year. The 'beware' sentiment was die cut using vellum with adhesive backing. I like the translucency of the letters showing the texture underneath.

This background seemed very Halloween-y to me.
The movement and color choice reminds me of the gates of hell.
Perfect sentiment, perfect gatekeeper (spider), and I think the silhouette really works with the background.
Look at this movement! I think it is incredible and was done rather easily.
All you need is photo paper, acrylic paint, and water. I put down multiple colors of acrylic paint in layers, allowing it dry between coats. The last coat was liberally applied and then spritzed using water. This made the top layer of acrylic paint run creating this amazing panel.

Well, that should do it for me. I hope you enjoyed your stay but more importantly, I hope you join our challenge at The Male Room. Until then take care and looking forward to seeing you at The Male Room!! Happy crafting!!

Skull

Hello All,

For today I am going to playing along with Fusion and, for the first time, Wednesdays Creative Inspirations. Their challenge was very intriguing these last couple of weeks. And look at me waiting till the last minute to get my entry submitted. So, here is my card for today, enjoy!
You can see I took the photo inspiration very seriously for this design.
My deviation comes from the blood-soaked banner and sentiment. The inspiration a monochromatic scheme. I thought my card needed a bit of balance so I added the blood red and sparkly green.
The background was created using the leftover image from a design using foil. I kept the leftover to use for this background. It seems to work well. The wreath was created using a black die-cut donut and some ribbon. Like the inspiration, I added a yellow-green bow at the bottom with some yellow accents sprinkled around the card.
The skull and gears are all part of one die-cut piece of paper. Die-cut the shape and stamped the gears and skull. But by far my favorite part is the blood-soaked banner. This was done using photo paper, water, and a re-inker. All I did was run the ink down the paper until it started moving downwards. I did this using multiple layers until I was satisfied.

H2O Leaves

Hello Everyone,

For today I am going to be playing along with CAS Watercolour Challenge. I have been procrastinating all month but here it is, my card for today, enjoy!

This card was created using a large leaf stencil (below). I inked the stencil using multiple Autumnal colors Distress Inks. Then I misted the watercolor paper with water and laid down the stencil. Afterwards, I lightly misted it again to allow the color to spread a bit more.

This card was easy to create and also easy to replicate.

I decided to take a brown stamp pad and run it along the edges of the panel creating a fine and slightly distressed border.
A few gold luster embellishments were added to compliment the sentiment and add just a touch of flair.

Challenges Entered:
Happy 1st Birthday! Looking forward to many more years to come!!

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

Elements Everywhere

Hello All,

For today I am writing on behalf of PINspirational to let you all know we have a new challenge these next two weeks. But before I get to the challenge here is my card for today.

This card has a lot going on. Lots of color and patterns are like Halloween, all the elements seem to be crazy! The photo inspiration for this challenge was great inspiration for creating this card.
Can you see the skull staring at you? If not, it is hidden among the flowers.
That is what I like about the inspiration photo. So much to see, so many surprises, so much inspiration that it is hard to focus on one thing. So, I decided to do everything!
I decided to use the negative space for the dripping blood.
I really like this element because it is insinuating something that isn't there;
at least not in its literal form.
Again, many surprises are hidden in this design.
If you look at the center of the flowers you will find an eyeball.
Just another oddity to spook the recipient.
Challenges Entered:
Cupcake Inspirations: #428- Ghouls and Ghosts

Well, thank you again for taking time out of your busy day to visit my corner of the internet. I do hope you will join us at (PIN)spirational and play along. Until then take care and we will see you soon!

All the best,

A single white bow gives a bit of dimension and simplicity.
The sentiment is center stage on this card. It pops out a bit more due to digital shadowing. It is easy to achieve; just copy the layer and change its color and move it a bit to the side.
