Snow Day!

Hello Everyone,

Today starts a new challenge at The Male Room. Our challenge for the next two is all about using vellum! So, without further ado here is my card for today, enjoy!

The background of this card is actually patterned paper. All I did was stamp the snowflakes and heat embossed them for a more festive look.

It is hard to see, but the 'o' in snow is a very sparkly snowflake. It glitters and shines in the light and looks so brilliant against the muted vellum background.
I tried something new to the vellum panel. I scribbled white colored pencil on the back of the 'snow' sentiment. I like how it looks scratchy like someone who scratched the window of ice.
Well, that should do it for me. I hope you enjoyed your stay but more importantly, I hope you join our challenge at The Male Room. Until then take care and looking forward to seeing you at The Male Room!! Happy crafting!!

Technology Kid

Hello Everyone,

For today I am throwing in my hat and entering CAS(E) this Sketch. My baby boy turned ten yesterday and he loves video games. I thought this would be a great card for him to usher in a new decade in his life. Here is my card for today, enjoy.

This stamp set is from Papertrey Ink. It is a small set but just too cute not to own. I really do like the enamel dots on the controllers. It gives it a bit of color and whimsy to this already cute card.
I have used a piece of patterned paper for the circuits. I think it is fitting for a technology card to have circuitry as part of the design. The stamped 'next level' is also from the same set as the controllers. It is a fun and playful set for your tween.
Again these enamel dots really add that pop of color this design needed. The control buttons look awesome with this small embellishments.
Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

All the best,

Shawna

Peppermint Greetings

Hello Y'all!!

I do hope you enjoyed our last challenge at PINspirational, but alas we have another challenge to share with you! The pin will tell all but first I would like to share my card with you, enjoy!

Warm colors and cozy patterns surround a holiday cup of joe.
I added a bit of white around the cup to pop it off the card a bit more.

In this case, the white color turns into the accent color on this card. I really like the way it pops in contrast to its dark colors.
The berries are red rhinestones that inadvertently ran through the die-cut machine. Apparently, I didn't remember the stones were already in place. They came out a bit squished and dull. However the more I looked at it the more I started to like it for its dullness.
Well, thank you again for taking time out of your busy day to visit my corner of the internet. I do hope you will join us at (PIN)spirational and play along. Until then take care and we will see you soon!

Black Eyed Susan's

Hello All,

I am pleased to be guest designing for Creative with Stamps for their mid-month inspiration! So excited to be designing with such a talented team. Thank you for this opportunity. As you know, this month's theme is all about being THANKFUL. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Most of this card was created digitally. The Black-Eyed Susans are from our sponsor, Pattie's Creations. The sentiment is a digi from SU and a stamped 'thank you' also from SU. Together they made a wonderful card. Full of color, cheer, and life.

This card is all about layers. Using layers with your digital software can transform how you design. For me, I use Adobe Elements. It is a powerful software without the cost. Layering is very easy to achieve. The 'delightful' sentiment uses the circle as negative space. All I had to do was use the paintbrush tool and paint the word behind the sentiment.
The flowers were colored manually using Mexpy alcohol markers.
The variegated leaves look so pretty against the beautiful blue of the background. On the other hand, the blue and green allow its complementary color, orange, to shine.
Again, I would like to thank Creative with Stamps and their design team for letting me Guest Design with them these next few months. I am honored and so excited to be working with such talent!

I also want to thank you for taking time out of your busy life to visit me. I am always touched by your visits. I will be back with more from TheGrandStampede. So until next time take care and happy stamping.

Holli-days Ornament

Hello All,

Well, it is that time of year again... Yes, I will say it, Christmas time. To quote Charlie Brown, 'Good grief!'. Not all is lost because I really enjoy making Christmas cards. For today I will be entering this card into Color Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I wish I could take full credit for this swirl background- like I could for this background but I can't. Here is the cheat, it is tissue paper I bought at Michaels. I love the movement, color, and its shine (See below). Below/Left: The holly leaves were die cut using multiple colors. The berries on the holly needed to be a pearl to coordinate with the pearly background.

Silhouette Wise Men

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to TheGrandStampede! Today I am going to show you some inspiration for your MHKDesigns digital stamps. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The magic of layer made this card possible. I took my MHKDesigns Christmas Silhouettes stamp set and copied the image into another layer. I then made it white and offset it to have the white show through.

Falling Leaves

Hello Everyone,

Update: still hoarse and throat feels like I'm breathing out fire. Anyhoo, this too shall pass.

Today I will be entering Addicted to CAS, Retro Rubber Challenge, Cupcake Inspirations and Allsorts Challenge Blog. I do enjoy Autumn but here in Michigan, it looks like it is about over. Ho-Hum but I can still look at the bright side. I can still make a card! Here is my design for today, enjoy!
This one layer card was created using watercolor paper measuring 4x6.
I thought using a taller card would enhance vertical space.
I really like the way the leaves are moving through the card.
Every leaf is going their own way.
Detail showing the different color within the leaves.
I used multiple shades of red, purple, and orange ZIG markers and blended
them together using yellow. The result is rich and bold leaves.
Challenges Entered:
Addicted to CAS: Week #123- Leaves
Cupcake Inspirations: CIC431- Fall
Allsorts Challenges: Week 441 - Colours of Autumn
Retro Rubber Challenge Blog: Challenge #75- Fall Colors! (The leaf stamps are about 4 years old and the sentiment is about 3 years old.)

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.
