Journey to the Stars

Hello All,

Tonight I am playing along with Double DTuesday Throwdown, and Fusion Challenges. Two out three challenges deal with one of my very favorite subjects, space! So, without further ado, here is my card for today, enjoy!

Lots of colors are found in space. So why should my card be any different?
The technique to achieve this look is quite easy. Paint your colors and then dab a bit of the color off the paper. While everything is still wet start to dab in black watercolor.
The result is out of this world! (don't mind the pun! 😉)
After the panel was dry it was time to splatter some stars into our universe.
I simply diluted white acrylic paint and gently flicked the brush with my finger.
This created a wonderful starry scene.
I die-cut the 'happy' sentiment from the original watercolored panel.
The lower sentiment was embossed in silver glitter powder.
 Challenges Entered:
Fusion: Galaxy
Double D Challenges: The Moon and/or Stars
Tuesday Throwdown: #407- Splatter It

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

Postcard

Hello PINspirational Friends,

I am so happy to have you here today. We have a new challenge at PINspirational! But before I get to the challenge here is my card for today, enjoy!

Take note the camper left for the recipient.
I thought it was a bit ironic he named his frog friend 'Croak'.

The entire postcard was done digitally. Printed two copies and simply cut out the polaroid frame, the camper, and frog. I took those elements and popped them up using dimensional adhesive.
As I stated above, this picture shows the dimension of the postcard.
Well, thank you again for taking time out of your busy day to visit my corner of the internet. I do hope you will join us at (PIN)spirational and play along. Until then take care and we will see you soon!

Tri-clusters

Hello Everyone,

For today I am going to be playing along with the Twofer ChallengeThe Color Throwdown, Sunday Stamps and CAS Colours & Sketches Challenges. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Stamped and colored on cold press 140lb watercolor paper.
Simple one layer card.
These colors are retro feeling and so are geometric forms.
Marrying the two together seemed to be a perfect fit.
The vertical sentiment was actually picked by my daughter.
I thought it would fit perfectly with the tall triangles.
She has a good eye, just like her mom 😉.

And here is my second card for Twofer and Sunday Stamps:

Above: Clusters of triangles colored using bold blues, yellows, and oranges. Below/Left: The sentiment fits nicely surrounded by bold triangles. Bottom/Right: A one layer card using a triangle cluster stamp and colored using Sunday Stamps color scheme.

And here are the two cards together using the same stamp.
One using subtle tones watercolor. The other card is bold and bright.

Challenges Entered:
Color Throwdown: ctd506
CAS Colours & Sketches: Challenge #285- sketch
Twofer Card Challenge: I will get to the second card soon.
Sunday Stamps: (Using Thank you card) SSC185- Summer Splash

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

Out of this World!

Hello Everyone,

For today I am going to be playing along with Freshly Made Sketches, Double D Challenges, and AAA Cards. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Lots and lots of white space surrounding the Earth and the washi tape 'stars'.
The sentiment fits perfectly with the theme of the card.
The washi tape border is symbolic of the stars surrounding the Earth.
The land masses were die cut from DP of a world map.
The land that is labeled has nothing to do with where they actually belong.
I thought it would look uniquely different to have images of maps as land.
 Challenges Entered:
AAA Cards: CAS Game #121- Friendship
Double D Challenges: The Moon and the Stars
Freshly Made Sketches: FMS350

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

A Girl and her Dog

Hello PINspirational Friends,

I am so happy to have you here today. We have a new challenge at PINspirational! But before I get to the challenge here is my card for today, enjoy!

Who says a dog can't be a girls best friend? Not me, I say.
My daughter and Crown are besties!
Also, how can things go wrong with a dog in one hand and a coffee in the other?

The color scheme comes directly from the inspiration photo.
This lovely Little Blue Button digi was colored using Copic Ciao's.
The 'coffee' sentiment was die cut twice and then stacked.
You may notice the color underneath the top layer is a bit darker.
That was done to provide some dimension.
Well, thank you again for taking time out of your busy day to visit my corner of the internet. I do hope you will join us at (PIN)spirational and play along. Until then take care and we will see you soon!

Sunflower Delight

Hello!

Today I am playing along with Freshly Made Sketches, CAS Watercolour Challenge, and The Paper Players. So here is my card for today, enjoy!

The sunflower stamp is a retired SU stamp. I stamped the sunflower using very light Wild Hare ink by Colorbox. The detail of the stamp shows through the watercolor giving it beautiful texture and dimension.
The center of the sunflower was done by watercoloring the center using a stipple effect. giving the impression of seeds. The absolute center was done using brown, yellow, and light green watercolor.
I know some of you may be thinking why on earth did I use a bright and cheery sunflower for a sympathy card. It is a time to reflect on the good times and times together with the departed. I think of it as a celebration of life.

Challenges Entered:
The Paper Players: PP405- Color Challenge
Freshly Made Sketches: flipped the sketch- FMS350
CAS Watercolour Challenge: August- Sunflower

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.
