With Sympathy...

Hello everyone,

Today I am only submitting this card to Stamplorations. During my weekly search for challenges, I went to AAA Cards only to find a shocking message. A fellow crafter, Melissa Lane, died unexpectedly October 2, 2018.

I read the family's business FB page and found myself crying for them. I have never known her, nor have I been on any design teams with her. I searched my blog in hopes we had some contact but unfortunately, no communication took place. But still, I grieved for the family losing a mom, wife, and daughter. And for our community losing someone so special to so many people around the world. Her work was amazing, articulate, and full of life. As I read more I could see she lived the way she created, with love, faith, and compassion.

Here is my card for today.

Melissa's favorite color was red and she loved butterflies.

May you rest in peace Melissa.
With Deepest Sympathy,

Teal and Orange

Hello Y'all,

For today I am playing along with The Color Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches. I always seem to enter both at the same time. Anyway, here is my card for today, enjoy!

I generously applied Fired Brick and Carved Pumpkin oxide inks to white 110lb. CS.
I then used water to stamp the peripheries of the rust base. This picked up some of the pigment and created a ghost image.
I didn't have dark teal enamel dots, using my alcohol marker, I color them the correct color as the sentiment.
The is made from wood that was colored a dark teal. I had to seal the color onto the wood as it didn't soak in like I thought it would. The cream color is represented on the leaf and edges of the card. It is hard to see but there is a light chevron pattern on the paper.
 Challenges Entered:
Freshly Made Sketches: FMS360 (full circle, HA!)

Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

Witches Hat

Hello PINspirational Friends,

I am so happy to have you here today. We have a new challenge at PINspirational! But before I get to the challenge here is my card for today, enjoy!

Isn't this hat magical?
The cutting file is by The Cutting Cafe who happens to be our sponsor this fortnight.
I used this hat to 'boo' my neighbor.
Below is an explanation of what it means to boo someone.

Fun huh?

The sponsor is
Prize-2 sets

Above: EEEKK... A spooky glittery spider crawling down the witches hat. It is not part of the hat it is part of the 'boo' tag. The circle tag is a combination of die cut letters, a holographic circle that was leftover from the cutting file. But what sets it all off is the overly large store-bought spider. I plucked it out of the bag and attached it the tag! Left/Below: I was inspired to create my own bow using holographic ribbon. ( I have way too much craft things!) I am not the best at making bows so all I did was tie it into a knot a few times. I like the way it turned out. Right/Bottom: This hat is actually very large. How large? Well, an entire bag of Hershey Kisses fit into the container.

Well, thank you again for taking time out of your busy day to visit my corner of the internet. I do hope you will join us at (PIN)spirational and play along. Until then take care and we will see you soon!

Jingle Bells

Hello Everyone,

For today I am going to playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch, City Crafter Challenge, and Inkspirational. One card is making a big punch tonight. Here is my card for today, enjoy.

Light embossing along with the silver shimmer of the bells (look at the bottom photo), glittery sentiment, and the vellum underlay on the sentiment creates a lot of texture but still CAS because of the simplicity of the design and large elements.

EEK...Moon

Hello Everyone,

For today I am going to be entering CAS(E) this Sketch, Fab Friday, AAA Cards and City Crafter Challenge. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The sky was done sponging Distress Oxide Wilted Violet, Black Soot, and Carved Pumpkin in an ombre pattern. You will also notice the moon I created is not one color or white. I have noticed when the moon is low on the horizon it seems to absorb the color of the sky. This is the look I was trying to achieve.
The stars were done by randomly dotting a jelly pen around the moon area. I also added water by literally clapping the droplets on the paper and then picking up the ink leaving a beautiful sky.
The sentiment was designed to look a bit distressed. It was actually a happy accident by die-cutting the letters using paper with a white core. It leaves behind a cut edge look which really drives the 'eek' home.
Challenges Entered:
City Crafter Challenge Blog: week #434- Halloween
Fab Friday: FabFri148- Color challenge
CAS(E) this Sketch: CTS #293
AAA Cards: CAS Game #126- Moonlight

I want to say how incredibly sorry I am for AAA Cards. They lost a wonderful and talented lady, Melissa Lane. I know it was sudden and it must be so hard to take it all in; so I wish you peace and comfort. Also, prayers for the family members who must be grief stricken. Healing, warm light is coming from my heart.

Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

Stacks of Leaves

Hello Y'all,

For today I will be playing along with Fusion and Creative with Stamps. Fall is in the air and fall is what I am celebrating. Here is my card for today; enjoy!

Outline of the leaves was done using two materials. One is Yupo paper and alcohol inks. I was testing some colors and thought these would create a nice texture. (Reference bottom leaf). Second, some of the die cuts were cut out of metallic sheen gold paper. Very fall, very festive.

The sentiment was heat embossed using gold metallic powder.
I stamped the perfect Autumn sentiment on the exact paper as the card base.
A detailed picture of the gold sheen on all the leaves. Notice not all the leaves have the color behind the outline. The leaves that were created using the Yupo paper were left with the outline. They were beautiful just the way they stood.

Okay, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

Acorns

Hello, Y'all,

Today I am playing along with Sketch Saturday and Inspired By... Fall beauty has never failed to awe me. This card does not disappoint the spirit of the season. Enjoy!

Lots and lots of visual texture. Examples of texture are the lace stamp embossed in white and sponged using Vintage Photo Distress Ink, the plaid background tag, and the wood foreground tag.
I was challenged how to create an embellishment in accordance with Sketch Saturday.
A simple wooden oval embellishment seemed to be the perfect touch for solving the challenge.
The wooden texture tag is just delightful.
I stamped the acorn image, inspired by well...... Inspired By... and colored using Prismacolor colored pencils.

Adding the acorn stamp creates more texture without the bulk.

Challenges Entered:
Sketch Saturday: Week #535- by Claire G
