Floral

Hello Everyone,

For today I will be playing along with Double D Challenge and The Card Concept. What a beautiful challenge and the colors are just divine. Colors, I might add, I don't use too often. So here is my card for today, enjoy!

A rainbow of Spring colors is just beautiful. The stamp is a retired stamp from SU. I saw this challenge and instantly thought of this stamp! I thought it would be perfect for Spring.
I simply stamped the image and colored it with various alcohol markers. I used the colors from the inspiration in the photo.
Again, a very easy card. This shows how I used the stamps the graphic nature to color it in using chunks or strips of color with some shading. All the colors together create a single color by using the same color family.

Umbrellas

Hello Everyone,

Today I will be playing along with the Double D Challenge and Twofer Challenge. I love this stencil and am so glad I had a chance to show it off. Here are my cards for today, enjoy!

First Card

I traced the outline of the umbrellas with white ink on black paper. I then took out my colored pencils and colored the umbrellas in the rainbow order.
I thought to mount them on white paper
brought out the white outline of the umbrellas.
The sentiment is very clever. It is a fantastic play on words. Plus a great message. I stamped the message and embossed it white. It looked horrible so I thought I would stamp it again using black ink. AHH... Much better.
Second Card
Submitting to Double D Challenge

A lovely spring card using the same stencil from the first card. Firstly, I sprayed the stencil with a light layer of Pixie stencil spray and laid down the stencil and taped it down. I took my Zig markers and colored only the tops of the umbrella then blended it out with an aqua brush.

I wanted to give the impression of rain on the
tops of the umbrellas by using color for movement.
The sentiment was stamped in black and die cut with a faux stitch for a bit of differentiation.
It is big bold and well... Wonderful!

Challenges Entered:
Twofer Card Challenge: Challenge #26- Rain/Umbrellas
Double D Challenges: Showers and Flowers
using the second card for the challenge.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

All the best,

Age of Aquarius

Hello All,

For today I will be playing with CASology and The Paper Players. Here is my card for today, enjoy!
A very simple card created using watercolor paper and watercolor paint. I presoaked the paper and dabbed blue color which spread all around the wet area. Painted the edges of color with water and dabbed away the excess color.

I heat embossed the Aquarius star pattern using Ranger silver powder. I then added sparkly stars that consist of three different size gems. Because not all stars are the same size.
The sentiment comes from two stamp sets. The 'Aquarius' is from the same stamp as the image.
I separately placed the 'Aquarius' under the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment. Seemed fitting.
 Challenges Entered:
The Paper Players: CAS Sparkle!- PP487
CASology: Week #366- Zodiac

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

Modern Music

Hello Everyone,

For today I am will be playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch and The Male Room. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

A simple modern masculine card is for my son's piano teacher who is going through a rough time. I thought it would be nice to send a note to say I was thinking about him.
The baby blue squares are sunk behind the card with dimensional adhesive. The squares are equidistant apart but the brown frames are off-center leaving an optical illusion of unbalance and a modern touch.
The music element was die cut three times and then stacked on each other creating a beautiful shadow in the sunken squares.

Quiltish

Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with Color Throwdown. The color and imagery intrigued me so I thought I would give it a try. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This die set is from Gina Marie Designs. The quiltish design is what attracted me to the set. So I when I went to Color Throwdown I knew what die I was going to use.

I decided on an alternating design. I die cut the 'pinwheel' twice on black and then white cardstock. I cut away the black pieces going to the upper-left. I cut the same design in red polka dots and inlaid those pieces between the black layer.  I think the effect is like a quilt design.
The pen of course coordinates with the quilted pattern.
Just a small touch to keep the design consistent.

Wonderful Wycinanki

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to another week at CAS Colours & Sketches. I am here with you today as a guest designer for this amazing design group. Today we have a color challenge that happens to be my favorite type of challenge. So without further ado here is my card for today, enjoy!

A simple symmetrical design with lots of white
space lends itself to a CAS design.

As the title states, this set is called Wonderful Wycinanki by Altenew.
I love its graphic simple depictions of nature. Below you can see the endless opportunities this set provides.

A detail shot of the largest flower. Layering it was more difficult then I thought. The final result was after eight tries. Finally got close enough to call it good.

Well, that is all for me!! I want to thank CAS Colour & Sketches again for this amazing opportunity to be their guest designer this month. We will see you next week for another challenge!

Whale of Thanks

Hello All,

Today I will be playing along with Cardz 4 Guys and Watercooler Wednesday. I do enjoy making masculine cards and also the sea. So calming... Which is just what we all need right about now. So here is my card for today, enjoy!

The ocean scene started off as an alcohol panel. When it dried it looked strikingly similar to the ocean under the ice. The layers of dark and light blue resinated an icy ocean world. I imagined the light coming from the ice as a spot for our whale.
The alcohol ink panel was only so big so I cropped it into a circle. I stamped the whale on both the cardstock and panel for a complete image. I colored the cardstock whale in grays and the panel whale with no coloring just the color of the panel which I think looks so pretty.  The whale stamp is a Zentangle design from Stampendous.
This one sentiment came from two stamp sets. I thought they went perfectly together.
