Blue Ridge Mountains

 Hello Everyone!

Today I will be playing along with The Male Room, Stamping Sensations, and a new challenge, Color Hues. These challenges combine two of my favorite things- Color and Outdoors! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

My sister-in-law was traveling back from her daughter's soccer tournament when she just happened upon this view! Incredible! I used it as inspiration for this card. Who wouldn't?

What I really liked about the picture was its panoramic nature. I used roughly one-third of the panel to give it the panoramic look. The sentiment is meaningful because my husband always says something to this extent when we hike. Good mantra!

The colors of that shot really inspired me to create this card. The mountains were done by masking, sponging, and colored pencil for smoothness. I wanted to give it some extra sense of dimension so I scored the outline of the mountains with an Exact-O blade. I also stamped the clouds using both an Altenew and Hero Arts cloud stamps.

Hangin' Sloth

 Hello Everyone!

Today I will be playing along with Freshly Made Sketches and Cupcake Inspirations. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I had the tropics in mind designing this card. I started to realize I have no idea where sloths live. After finishing this card I was a bit panicked. And I soon found out sloths live in tropical environments. PHEW!! If not I would have to declare 'artistic license'.

The sloth is from Sunny Studio. Some of you may realize the sloth is bigger than the actual stamp. I stamped the sloth and enlarged the little guy 150%. I then colored him using polychromo pencils. The flower with the original sloth didn't look in scale. Enlarging the sloth put the entire card to 'scale'.

Hang in there seemed to the most appropriate sentiment. However, I don't know about you but I don't exactly think I would be smiling if I was hanging on a branch by my hands. Just sayin'!

Chameleon

 Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with The Paper Players and Just Us Girls. I picked quite an unusual creature for a pet, the chameleon! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

One layer card showing the chameleon in all its wonderful colors! This card uses color blocking to illustrate the color change of a chameleon.

The use of masking paper was essential for the card to work.  The colors were added using Hero Arts, Memento, and Your Next Stamp inks. I gently added the color using an ink applicator.

These little critters were stamped after the color blocking. I wanted to use the color as a wash for the crayons and chameleon. I then colored them using polychromos.

Challenges Entered:

A few of my friends in college had chameleons for pets. They were the coolest creatures! However, their life expectancy is very short. They live around 2-3 years in the wild and 3-10 years in captivity. I would love to hear from you if you had a chameleon as a pet.

I wasn't sure if I was going to post this but there is a video series called True Facts. Each video is about a certain animal and the one I am going to share is about the chameleon. Just a warning, it is not for little eyes!! If you are of age watch this here!! It is absolutely hilarious!

Watercolor with Flowers

  Hello Everyone,

For today I will be playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch and The Flower Challenge. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

A simple one layer card using watercolor paper, water, DI's,
and the long forgotten, Gelli Plate.

I put Worn Lipstick directly onto the Gelli Plate and some Squeezed Lemonade on my work surface. Simply sprayed water on the Gelli Plate and gently mixed it with the Squeezed Lemonade and added it to the paper.

I stamped the wildflowers in brown ink a couple of times. Watercolor paper has a ton of texture by stamping mulitple times I could get a clear image.

Celebrate! It's your day.

 Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to share a card using the challenge from As You See It. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The wreath is traditionally for Christmas or Winter cards but in this case, I made it more of an occasion card. This wreath uses all sorts of different green pattern papers. The wreath itself is built up to three layers and the banner is also three layers.

The inlay technique is really is effective with the layered wreath.
It really shows the dimension very well.

The sentiment is made up of two stamp sets in two different shades of green.

Marigold

 Hello All,

Welcome to another challenge at Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge. Today's color challenge is a bit more... well... challenging. It is because no other neutrals are allowed. You can use white and gold. Either way, I had fun with the color challenge! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I have had this marigold stamp for years and never used it until now. The rich oranges really spawned the need for a fall flower. I thought this marigold from Stamplorations was perfect!

A delicate frame of necterine and white surround the flower so nicely.
The leaf outline diecut was added for a bit of the avocado color.

I stamped the flower on HA black watercolor paper and heat embossed. I painted the flower using Gouache watercolor paint. They are very pigmented and perfect for dark color backgrounds.

Well, thank you again for taking the time out of your busy day to visit my corner of the internet. I do hope you will join us at Color My Heart Color Dare and play along.

Lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. I hope you all have a fantastic day and please stay safe and stay healthy. Until then take care and we will see you soon!

Chalky

 Hello Everyone,

Today I am playing along with The Paper Players, Less is More, and Cardz 4 Guyz. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The chalkboard technique is present from the patterned paper I chose from a 'chalky' paper pad. The paper was double-sided. All I had to do was cut to size and flip the paper over. Perfect coordination. The banner is also from the same chalky paper packet.

The colors are very subdued using only light yellow as the only color on the card.
The other colors like the chalked up birds are neutral. I also distressed the edges of the card with white ink to look more chalky.

This shows the leaf detail. The 'paper' I used came from the October 2019 MMH kit. I put the word paper in quotes because it looks and feels a wood veneer. You can see the woody texture on the leaves.
