Finicky Felines

 Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I am playing along with The Paper Players. Their challenge surprised me this fortnight. Why? Well... Felines! I am NOT a cat fan at all because their dander sends me to the hospital. I have the biggest allergic reaction to these little 'cuddle' creatures. So, I thought I would try it by using a tiger. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I lightly distressed the edges of the card for a clean and relaxed look. The tiger looks kind but fierce. Just like the sentiment states.

The quote stamp includes the word courage. All I did was mask the 'courage' out with a post-it note and stamped the rest of the sentiment. I also masked the sentiment to stamp the clouds by the quote.

The word 'courage' was diecut three times, taped to some scratch paper, and inked in an ombre of colors. Its shadow was cut out of vellum to dull down the background; allowing the sentiment to stand out.

Challenges Entered:

The Paper Players: PP529 - CAS Challenge- Feline Fine

This is one of my favorite quotes of all time. I had it on my bathroom mirror for years. The quote became apparent for me while going through infertility. The anguish of treatments, shots, procedures, and ultrasounds only to find out you didn't conceive or lost the pregnancy was probably the most trying time in my life. That is when I had that quote on my mirror and read it every day for years. Saying 'I will try again tomorrow' was an understatement. After years of disappointment and loss, I finally had a baby girl! That baby girl is now fifteen! I am so lucky and privileged to have her in my life.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. Lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. I hope you all have a fantastic day and please stay safe and healthy.

All the best,

  1. Shawna your tiger is the perfect feline for your sentiment and the ombre duecut is a great way to create a seamless transition between the two. Your sentiment and story resonates with me too - and from one mother to another (I also have a much longed for 15 year old daughter following fertility treatment and was fortunate to also be blessed with a 13 year old son too) I am thrilled that you found the strength to continue on your journey into parenthood. Thanks for sharing with us over at The Paper Players this week!
