Vivid Butterfly

 Hello All,

I am writing to you from my phone. Our computer decided not to turn on. Fantastic... So, please bear with me. Today I will be playing along with The Card Concept and The Day of the Month card challenges. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Brilliant butterfly takes center stage. It is, once again, a StampPeddler background stamp. I love this image and is one of the many stamps I own that has been used multiple times.

Stamped the image twice, one for the background and the other for the butterfly. I colored them both using alcohol markers. I cut out the butterfly and laid it on the background layer. I only added the body of the butterfly so that wings are free.

This shot emphasizes the vivid color of the butterfly. The wings looks so good spread out from the card. I also like the color of the black sentiment as it seems to bring out the butterfly.

Challenges Entered:
Day of the Month Card Challenge: #25- Learn About Butterflies + 2nd Blog Birthday

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. Lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. I hope you all have a fantastic day and please stay safe and healthy.

Springtime

Hello All!

My time as the guest designer at Just Us Girls has come to an end. I had so much fun with these gals. I felt so welcome and grateful to be a part of such a creative team. So without further ado here is my card for today, enjoy!

Tulip Time is a festival here in West Michigan. It celebrates Springtime with tulips throughout the town. It offers an entire spectrum of color that overloads the senses- that is only when they are in bloom. The locals often call Tulip Time, affectionately, Stem Time because there have been years where the tulips have already bloomed before the festival began. Such a bummer because it really is beautiful.

Challenge #577- Photo Week

My inspiration was the tulips and the coloring of the background.

This layering set of tulips is from PTI. I think it is retired but not too sure. The edges of the card are distressed by brushing Twisted Citron, Stormy Sky, and Chipped Sapphire on the edges of the card.

I may have gotten a bit pearl crazy here, but I thought they would act as spring rain. Also, the leaves and stems are multicolored. That was done by inking the entire stamp with a light green ink then wisping flecks of dark ink on top. I like the texture it provides along with the flower.

Well, that should do it for me!! I want to thank Just Us Girls once again for being such fantastic hosts. I was humbled by their invitation and their challenges were a joy to create. So, take part in their Springtime challenge, surely it will not disappoint. Take care and until next time, take care and happy stamping, and stay safe!!

All the best,

Sunset with Dog

 Hello Everyone,

Today I will be playing along with The Paper Players, Double D, and Fusion Challenges. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

CAS card with one image of a dog. Now isn't that relaxing. I liked the Fusion sketch because this die-cut conforms perfectly with the sketch and still in keeping with the CAS style.

I brushed on Seedless Preserves, Carved Pumpkin, and Mustard Seed DI's to create the sky. Also, kept the layers to a minimum by masking off the base layer to ink.

The die-cut was the inspiration for the card. I was thinking maybe make a sympathy card, but I thought I would make a broader sentiment in the end. It can go with so many occasions including sympathy.

Challenges Entered:
Fusion: Easter Eggs (Obviously I followed the Sketch)

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. Lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. I hope you all have a fantastic day and please stay safe and healthy.

Lucky Shamrocks

 Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with The Color Throwdown and Twofer Card Challenges. Here are my cards for today enjoy!

Card #1

Simply colored using alcohol markers in various shades of green.
For good luck, the sentiment is underlined with a strip of gold paper.

A white sentiment strip and border allows the sentiment to pop off the shamrocks.

Here is a closer shot of the gold strip under the sentiment. Tried to keep it simple since there is so much going on in the background.

The Color Throwdown: cts634
Twofer Card Challenge: Challenge #36- Your Choice

Card #2

Utilizing the spotlight technique for this card. At first glance it looks like another St. Patrick's card. It is in fact a love you card. The sentiment was split into two separate black tags. The original sentiment had the word `lucky`included on the stamp.

Used rainbow paper for a small online. This small amount color brings the color throughout the card.

Here is a closer look at the split sentiment. I added some enamel dots for some eye-catching color. I think it adds a lot to the card.

Surrender to Daisies

Hello All,

Welcome to my third guest appearance at Just Us Girls. This type of challenge happens to be one of my favorites... Color challenges. Before I get to the color scheme I want to share my card for today, enjoy!

The other day my husband commented that it smelled different and you know what he was right. That smell, Spring! Everything coming back to life! That is why I wanted to use daisies for this card. They are fresh, new, and the smell is always suggestive to Springtime.

Challenge #576- Color Week

Use Yellow, Dark Green, Gray

The daisies are a die cut set from Altenew called
Craft-A-Flower: Daisy Layering Die Set
The slimline card was done to emulate a field of daisies against a gray sky. Let's face it, Spring is not the sunniest time of year. However, I do like the transition from clouds to the sun.

The die-cut daisies were tedious to assemble but by following the layering guide that comes with the set then you should be all set. Tip: I made the super small pieces into stickers instead of using glue to adhere the bits to the flower. It was much easier and less messy than glue.

Well, that should do it for me!! I want to thank Just Us Girls once again for being such fantastic hosts. I do hope you join their challenge. For me, it was great fun and I am sure it will be for you too. Take care and until next time take care, happy stamping, and stay safe!!

Butterfly

 Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with Sunday Stamps and Day of the Month Club Challenges. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I wanted this card to be magical. In that, I mean colors you usually don't see in nature. Well, I kind of did it and I still like it, but maybe I should have more obscure colors. I do however love the sentiment.

I love this larger-than-life image from StampPeddler. So pretty and realistic artwork is what draws me to their stamps.

The raised panels are spotlighted by the kraft cardstock below. It is hard to tell at least for my husband, but I will promise you it is there.

All the best,

Nesting Dolls

 Hello my CMHCD friends,

For today I am sharing our next challenge at Color My Heart Color Dare. We have a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for you featuring the 'Daisy Meadow' paper-pack from CMH. I would like to ask you to please identify your Row, Column, or Diagonal in your blog post. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

A different twist on a trifold card featuring nesting dolls. The minute I saw this set on Ebay I thought of this card. I figured it would make an excellent Mothers Day card. I made sure all the colors from the board were on each of the dolls while leaving the background black and white. I fussy cut around only half of the dolls to create a nesting doll effect. As you open it up you discover more of what is next on the inside.

Now for our challenge!

I chose them all

Above: The sentiment die cut and nesting doll was cut to overhang the right of the tri-fold card. Below/Left: This is the right part of the tri-fold featuring the other nesting doll. This doll hangs over the left hiding what is below. Bottom/Right: Last but not least the card base with the cityscape again and our last nesting doll and the end of the sentiment.

Well, thank you again for taking the time out of your busy day to visit my corner of the internet. I do hope you will join us at Color My Heart Color Dare and play along.

Lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. I hope you all have a fantastic day and please stay safe and stay healthy. Until then take care and we will see you soon!

It's All Black & White

Hello Everyone,

Today I am happy to announce to be the guest designer at Color Hues. This challenge is about the absence and entirety of color or black and white. So, without further ado here is my card today, enjoy!

This card looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. You know what, that is why I love it. It is cosmic and strange. It looks like an amazing view in zero gravity.  It will be perfect for someone someday.

The geometric background was done by dry embossing a die-cut that was inked with white pigment ink. I added white sripple inside the shapes to look like stars.

I thought I would use this sentiment that came with the set (very unusual for me) but with St. Patrick's day around the corner I thought it was appropriate. You also get a close look at the dry inked embossing that done using a die-cut.

Thank you to Color Hues for having me this fortnight. I adore color challenges and was so happy when they asked me to be their guest.

And thank you, my reader, for stopping by my little byte of the internet. If you aren't already a follower I invite you to consider it. I share designs, techniques, and thoughts about well.... whatever is on my mind.

So, join me as we all embark on our crafting journey together at TheGrandStampede. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. Stay safe and healthy!!

All the best,
