Easter Basket

 Hello All,

Today I will be playing along with Just Us Girls and INKspirational. Easter is right around the corner so I thought I would get started on my cards. Here is one of them for today, enjoy!

There are lots of curves and embossing that created this card. The basket was embossed using a weave pattern. The top of the basket was cut then folded for texture. I think it leaves a softer edge. The bow was die-cut and then embossed to leave a bow impression on the luster cardstock.

Above: The background has a subtle pattern to compliment the curvy shape of the eggs. Below/Left: All the texture was achieved using a mix of embossing folders and shimmery cardstock. Bottom/Right: Extra embellishments were added such as die-cut grass placed in between the eggs and the sentiment tag that is part of a larger die-cut premade sheet.

Spring Butterflies

 Hello All,

I cannot believe this, I am posting this well within the time limit of The Paper Players. I am also playing along with The Color Throwdown. Enjoy the card for today!

The branches on the background are stamped in gray. I wanted to keep it simple so the butterflies could shine and giving a sense of place.

The sentiment is a mix of die-cutting and stamping. The 'spring is here' sentiment came from a word art collage stamp. I stamped the entire image and cut out the strip I needed to complete the card.

You would think the butterflies were hot-foiled from a watercolor background but not from me. The butterflies are part of designer paper that was on clearance. I carefully cut them out and adhered them on the mini-slimline card.

Here in GR Michigan butterflies are always the first sign of Spring. Yes it is 19℉ and there isn't a butterfly in the world that could survive here, but there is a place called Fredrick Meijer Gardens where the butterflies are hatching in droves. The gardens have their own solarium where it is a balmy 80℉. The perfect environment for butterflies to flourish. If any of you visit western Michigan I invite you to check this place out. It is spectacular!

Metallic Flowers

 Hello,

For today I will be playing along with Freshly Made Sketches. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The three vases were die-cut then stacked for dimension. They were laid on top white strips of cardstock.

The gold trim matches nicely with the gold sentiment.

The flowers were stamped an oldie (but goodie) set from SU. I liked the set because of its modern and vertical feel.

The sentiment was hot foiled using a luster gold foil. I used this luster to coordinate with the flowers that were also colored using metallic markers.
