Well here we go.. my submission for The Male Room Challenge Blog:
The triangles and diamonds are fitting for the arrows on the larger then life dollar sign. |
Color scheme triangulates nicely on the color wheel. |
I took this design more abstractly then just balloons or kites which was first thought to come to mind. So, I asked my children what words they thought of when I told them about the challenge. After some discussion and sketching the word 'promotion' came up and off I went to my craft area.
Entering Challenge The Male Room challenge #13 |
The letter 'S' was traced from a stencil but the rest of the panel drawn with a T-square and pencil then traced with a drawing marker at various thicknesses. The entire panel was colored using Mexpy alcohol markers and Prismacolor pencils. (For future reference, gold pencil is not my friend) I wanted a consistent blend of color but after some time with it it seemed very streaky and not able to behave the way I wanted. I did what I could and I think it turned out alright. All-and-all not my best work, but it was something different and inspired by this amazing blog which I think has one of the best challenges. Plus, it stretched my creative thought; so why not try it out. Nike said it best; just do it.. You won't know until you try and I feel that is what being an artist is all about.
That is it for me today! I hope you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for stopping by and leave a comment good, great, or otherwise. Take care all and see you soon!
All the best,
Shawna

ReplyDeleteWonderful men's card. I have a huge problem with creating cards for men, you're doing it with such imaginativeness that even I envy. I really like the way this card coloring, selection of colors perfect. Super card, very inspiring.
