Welcome! If this is your first time here at TheGrandStampede I want to wish you a warm hello. For those who have been here before, welcome back!
I am so proud to announce that for this week I will be a guest designer at Addicted to CAS. I am so excited and honored to be standing beside such talented Designers. For this week they asked me to create a card with the word cue; inlaid dies. Here is my card for today, enjoy!
I first die cut the square then die cut the 'D@D' sentiment. After inlaying the design back together I took the sentiment out leaving the negative space. |
A closer look at the inlaid square and inlaid blue background inside the square shape. |
As I was making this card I was battling a pretty bad cold with a 100.4 temperature. I knew what I wanted to do but my head was a bit foggy and it was hard to think. It took lots of mental work to figure out which step went where but with some perseverance and careful thought it came out correctly. PHEW!
I have been a huge fan of Jennifer McGuire since I started 'carding' (it has become a verb in our house). I have added some links here and here to her YouTube channel explaining and demonstrating the inlay die technique.
So that is it for me! I want to give a huge thank you again to Addicted to CAS for having me this week as your guest. I am truly touched.
And thank you so much for stopping by my little byte of the internet. If you aren't already a follower I invite you to consider it. I share designs, techniques, and thoughts about well.... whatever is on my mind. So, join me as we all embark on our crafting journey together at TheGrandStampede. Until next time, take care everyone.
All the best,
Shawna

ReplyDeleteSorry you've been poorly. Congratulations on your well deserved guest slot x Loving the vibrant colour on your card and how you've inlaid the dies, very clever. The white looks great alongside that gorgeous blue x
ReplyDeleteIn spite of your cold, I think you did an amazing job on this card, Shawna! I love how you used the negative portion of your die cut for the sentiment, and framed it out...very cool! Beautiful watercoloring, too!
