Another day another challenge! For today I am playing along with Just Add Ink. The inspiration was well.... inspirational. Here is my card for tonight, enjoy.

| I sponged the background the colors from Just Add Ink. I allowed the two colors merge just a bit for a nice transition. |

| I inlaid just a few gray pieces to the cover die to represent the gray on the inspiration walls. |
Left: Detail showing the sentiment stamped in gray on white. The bird however is the inverse with white heat embossed on gray paper.

Here in the U.S. it is National Teachers Day. It is a day to celebrate our teachers and how hard they work for our children. There are also some who work behind the scenes and I feel they too deserve to be recognized for all their hard work. For me, that is the president of our schools' P.T.O. (Parent Teacher Organization) who works tirelessly to propel our school forward and serve as the main resource between teacher and parent. The recipient is not getting paid for her time. She is doing this out of the kindness of her heart; and for that I am so grateful and want to thank her with a card of appreciation. I do hope she likes it.. I'll let you know tomorrow.

We don't have that particular "day" here in Australia but am sure it would be a great idea.Youve used a beautiful sentiment and your chevron background is totally stunning! Great to inlay some of the grey shapes to emphasize the grey in the photo. Clever and thoughtful sentiment and such a cute idea to do the thank you die cut sentiment inside the bird. Just loving this card x

That chevron die is really great!!! Love the very cute bird and the sentiment is so special!!!!! This is such a beautiful card, my friend - I LOVE it!!!!

ReplyDeleteSuch fantastic inspiration from the challenge photo and I LOVE that die you used. Your sponging technique is perfect and love how the colours merge. I also like how you added the odd area of black to add interest and break the colour up a little, very clever. I'm sure the recipient was very grateful and touched that you were thanking her for her hard work. And I'm glad you shared it with us too at Just Add Ink!
