Hello Everyone,
Today starts a new challenge at The Male Room. Our challenge for the next two is all about Silhouettes! So, without further ado here is my card for today, enjoy!
|
The spider and web are the perfect silhouettes for this challenge and time of year. The 'beware' sentiment was die cut using vellum with adhesive backing. I like the translucency of the letters showing the texture underneath. |

This background seemed very Halloween-y to me. The movement and color choice reminds me of the gates of hell. Perfect sentiment, perfect gatekeeper (spider), and I think the silhouette really works with the background. |
|
Look at this movement! I think it is incredible and was done rather easily. All you need is photo paper, acrylic paint, and water. I put down multiple colors of acrylic paint in layers, allowing it dry between coats. The last coat was liberally applied and then spritzed using water. This made the top layer of acrylic paint run creating this amazing panel. |
Well, that should do it for me. I hope you enjoyed your stay but more importantly, I hope you join our challenge at The Male Room. Until then take care and looking forward to seeing you at The Male Room!! Happy crafting!!
Wow, your detail is amazing, Shawna. Spooky halloween card! It was fun designing with you. Thank you for having me. Tracie =)
ReplyDeleteVery cool effect with the paint - great contrast with the silhouette!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great Halloween card, Shawna! I really love the vellum sentiment - it has a perfect ghostliness to it. And the silhouetted spider and spiders web are perfect for the prompt. I love the effect you got with the paint too - I may have to give that a try sometime!
ReplyDeleteThat background is amazing, thanks for the 'how to', I shall have to try that one. Love the spooky letters too.
ReplyDeleteIt may be easy for you to produce such a fabulous background with lots of movement, but something I don't find easy and I admire anyone who can. A Fabulous result, LOVE the vellum and the spider and web too.
