Today I am playing along with The Color Throwdown. I took a different approach to this challenge, instead of flowers, I chose to use the word 'rusty' quite literally... Well, sort of... Here is my card for today, enjoy!

| Started off sponging white cardstock with layers of Fired Brick, Wild Honey, Seedless Preserves and Vintage Photo OXI; making sure the center of the card stayed light rust color. I added water then pulled it up using a cloth creating a rusty backdrop. The added touch of texture of gray and black splatters makes it more interesting and distressed. |

| The gears and sentiment strip were die cut from purple CS that was then distressed using colored pencil and distress ink. Added three brads for interest and more texture. |

| I made this pic a bit larger so you can see the detail on the 'rusty' gears. I used the purple CS and colored the gray for the 'metal', purple, orange and red for the 'rust'. The illusion of dripping rust seems to work really well for this card. |
