Hello All,
I have been playing with this stamp/die set for a while now. I haven't posted too many cards featuring it but now I am featuring two of them for Twofer. Here are my cards for today, enjoy!
Card #1:
It seems by looking at some examples of the Wycinanki style that symmetry is their primary design pattern. So I followed by example and created a symmetrical design. |
Dark purple was used throughout this card. The outer layers of the flowers and the horizontal stripes on the card. I think the stripes frame the flowers and sentiment nicely. |
Card #2
This card features the Wonderful Wycinanki stamp and die set. The center flower was stamped while the others were created using the 3D die set. |
Again symmetry is what guided this card. |
A closer look at the dimension of the flower. You could do so much with this set! I think next time I am going to try to inlay the pieces. Stay tuned! |
Challenges Entered:
Both of your cards are AMAZING Shawna! I did google Wycinanki as you suggested and love this bright and colorful "folk art" style of artistry, and both of your cards reflect it beautifully!! Thanks so much for sharing both of these beauties with us at The Twofer Challenge and for teaching me something new today! :0)
ReplyDeleteFascinating to Google this form of Polish art, Shawna. Thank you for sharing! It does remind me a bit of American folk art. You've represented the concept of Wycinanki expertly with your two beautiful and beautifully colored designs! I imagine they are even more stunning in person because of the texture! Thank you for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #34! Keep safe and take care! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeletePerfect flowers twofer! I like the folk art style. It reminds me a little on Slovenian folk art. Your decision for colors on both cards is awesome. I like the geometric design. Thank you for playing at Twofer Card Challenge #34.
