Fabulous Chevron

Hello Readers,

For today I am posting a CAS card. This style of designing seems so easy and simple but for me it is one of the hardest cards to design. Lots of white space with minimal distractions is the hallmark of CAS. So for me keeping things Clean And Simple can be a challenge but I think I did the job of CAS on this card. I hope I achieved it but I will let you be the judge. Here is my card for Addicted to CAS. Enjoy! I hope you like it.

The chevron border at the bottom of the card acts to anchor the bottle giving it a sense of place. The black chevron and sentiment color keeps balance throughout the design. The bottle image is stamped with color but not too much to distract from the bold chevron. This design is simple but very effective!

I got this sentiment stamp at my local outlet store which sells damaged goods at bargain prices. I just love the font, message, and scale of the sentiment. And needless to say it was mine in a heartbeat!
Entering Addicted to CAS
Codeword: Chevron
How to:

  1. Cut and scored my white CS to an A2 card size.
  2. Punched out two strips of black chevron and added to the base.
  3. Stamped the bottle image selectively inking the stamp with the colors shown.
  4. Stamped the sentiment.
That is it for me right now.. I have a few more challenges to enter but first I must make dinner for my family.. Taco night.. Yum! Take care and thank you so much for stopping by and please leave a comment if you'd like. See you sooner then later.

All the best,
Shawna

  1. Well I agree that Clean and Simple is not the same as Quick and Easy, and for myself, the 'clean' bit is the biggest challenge as I tend to get ink everywhere! So I do admire your precision stamping in the different colours of ink, and the chevron anchors it all nicely.
