Peacock Card

Hello Everyone!!

I am entering the Fusion Challenge for this week. I chose to go with the peacock theme for my card. Peacocks are spectacularly beautiful and graceful. Conversely, they are so fancy only to make little peacocks. Nature loves vanity but why fix it if it isn't broken. All the same they are magnificent creatures and with this card I hope to capture their beauty; at least a little bit..

The color of peacocks is what captivates me the most. Here I used blue pearlescent embossing
powder with the background image from Peddler Pack.
This shows the shine of the embossing powder.
I had to paint the center of the feather using acrylic paint

Side view showing the variegated browns in the background.
This detail also shows the sentiment and peacock image. The same color scheme was used in the thank you peacock as the background image. I feel this touch of color allows the peacock to be part of the design.

Entering Challenge:

It is late and I am going to bed.. Thank you so much for stopping by and please leave a comment good, great, or otherwise.. Take care and see you soon!

All the best,
Shawna

  3. Hi Shawna,
they are very beautiful cards. The first is a real masterpiece of color and form. The combination of warm brown and blue very similar to the real peacock feathers, where the bronze goes a little gold. I also love peacocks, I am always mesmerized by their beauty.
The second card is a very labor-intensive work and so perfectly everything to each other is matched. The colors harmonize beautifully with each other.

  6. Hi Shawna, you make the most gorgeous cards! This card is amazing! You really captured the beauty of peacocks here! Wonderful shimmer you got with that embossing powder! You can make any peacock jealous with that card! We actually had our car attacked by a male peacock - he was jealous of the color - which was kind of a teal color - he kept violently pecking at it - kind of funny.... I want to thank you for your gorgeous get well card you sent me! I have never seen anything quite like it! So totally cool! It warmed my heart that you were thinking about me. I am much better than before, but my eyesight is still impaired - may never be what it was before.....At least I have one healthy eye left....Thanks again and hugs, my friend, Cornelia
