Warm Winter Mittens

Hello Creative with Stamps friends,

Just wanted to pop in and say hello. Also, I wanted to share my midmonth inspiration for Creative with StampsThis month's challenge is very fitting for the season featuring the most popular animal for Christmas, the reindeer. I would like to share my card with you, enjoy!

I used the masking technique to mask around the mittens and then used an 'ugly sweater' stamp. It worked well. However, it seems the reindeer gets lost in translation. So I thought a die cut reindeer would make the perfect touch to this festive card.

I used all the elements from the digi stamp (see below) but I took the image and reorganized the elements to create an entirely new card. .

Again I would like to thank Creative with Stamps and their design team for being such gracious hosts. I am excited to be working with them these next few weeks.

I also want to thank you for taking time out of your busy life to visit me. I am always touched by your visits. I will be back with more from TheGrandStampede. So until next take care and happy stamping.

From Our Home to Yours

Hello All,

For today I would like to share some inspiration from MHKDesigns. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I do enjoy the cozy colors of this scene.  Nice browns warm up the scene.
The snow was stenciled using VersaMark Ink and 'Winter Wonderland' embossing powder.
I do really enjoy how it turned out.

______________________________

This card was all designed electronically,
except for the snow that is described above.

A detailed shot of the sentiment.
I thought it was a fitting sentiment next to this cozy home.
I don't know about you but I am up to my eyeballs with 'Christmas Spirit'. However, I think I am going to try to get better a better perspective on the meaning of Christmas. I literally thought the other day, 'would Jesus want us to be all stressed out?'. My guess is no... So, I would like to take this moment to breathe. Better? Better!

I encourage you to stop by the MHKDesigns blog to see more inventive ideas from our design team, and then play along with our monthly challenge, or just enjoy a bit of eye candy.

There is a lot more to discover at MHKDesigns Etsy Shop! Stop on over and see what we have to offer. It is certain to spark the imagination. So, thank you for stopping by and hope to see you soon. Take care and happy crafting.

All the best,

No Peeking!

Hello Creative with Stamps friends,

Just wanted to pop in and say happy December 1st. And with every new month at Creative with Stamps comes a new challenge. This month the challenge is very fitting for the season. However, before I share the challenge I would like to share my card with you, enjoy!
Our little reindeer is just too cute peeking over the paper seeing if he can catch a glimpse of.... Well you can finish that sentence.

The diamond background is an SU retired digi paper. All I did was erase the background color of paper (in this case it was yellow) and what I was left with were the diamonds. Below/Left: You can see in the photo there is a bit of shimmer on this card. I think the background shows just enough pattern not to distract from the diamond backdrop. Bottom/Right: This sentiment just cracks me up! I don't know what you are thinking but I think he may be her may be on the naughty list. Thought?

Again I would like to thank Creative with Stamps and their design team for being such gracious hosts. I am excited to be working with them these next few weeks. I am honored and so excited to be working with such talent!

I also want to thank you for taking time out of your busy life to visit me. I am always touched by your visits. I will be back with more from TheGrandStampede. So until next take care and happy stamping.

Merry, Merry from HOC!

Used the digi Snowman with Tree Hat stamp set:

Sometimes it isn't a bad idea to crop an image. I think cropping the image works well here because of the tree-hat's position.
The banner and sentiment were created digitally.
The magic of layers is what made this possible.
It's Christmas so why not create a bit of sparkle. That is just what I did by adding Stickles to the ornaments and star. The bling was the perfect finishing touch to this design.

I used a limited color palette so the tree would shine and become the central focal point. I used my Mexpy markers to color the snowman and its hat.

Used image from Finn's Bells digi set

The modern backdrop is a freebie from Winnie & Walter. I really like the way the bells blend into its surroundings. I think it makes the scarlet red bow shine! The more you look the more you see.
Again, I used a limited color palette with this design as well. The different shades of green are representative of the tree from the inspiration photo.

No bling on this card. As you can see from the inspiration the photography wanted to use only natural elements like burlap, wood, and the natural wooden ornaments.
Wow does this bow stand out! Red and green together make such a pretty combination. I also wanted to pop the bells a bit more due to the busy backdrop. I did that by shading the bells like there was light shining on them from above. I don't know if I succeeded but it was worth a try.
