Masked Unicorn

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to be playing along with The Color Throwdown and Cupcake Inspirations. Fab color combination! So, here is my card for today, enjoy!

Stenciling, sponging, masking are just a few of the techniques that were used to create this card.
The stencil is from Rebbeca Baer and I thought it was so magical and beautiful. I thought it would be perfect for the magical unicorn,
This is full of visual layers but alas it is a one layer card.
The resist technique is what created the unicorn. Stamp in Versamark then heat embossed clear.  This will allow me to sponge over the image and the embossing resists the ink. Fabulous and easy for impact and interest.
Challenges Entered:
The Color Throwdown: ctd494
Cupcake Inspirations: CIC#447- Magical Creatures

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

Pastel Bouquet

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to be playing along with The Card Concept. What a lovely sentiment to the start of summer than a nice bouquet card.  Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I temporarily taped down the card so you can see it as a whole.
The pretty soft colors from the wall and tables inspired the background color choices.
Above: The acetate allows the recipient to see through the card. I do enjoy this surprise effect and it focuses on the beautiful floral arrangement by SU (retired). Left/Below:  An angle shot showing the colors used and notice the stitching on the border. It is subtle and defines the border. Right/Bottom: A lot of trial and error went into making this card. Masking the stamp positioning was the name of the game with this design.

Challenges Entered:
The Card Concept: #93- Floral Centerpiece

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

Rainbow Daisy

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to be playing along with The Paper Players and CAS Watercolour Challenge. I have more flowers stamps than any other in my stash, so better use them right? Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Watercolor panel adhered to white cardstock and one stamped sentiment.
Quick and easy.
Lots + Lots of color ðŸ˜€ and white space.
One very colorful image surrounded by beautiful white space.
I think the white area allows the color to really pop.

I used ZIG watercolor brushes, an aqua pen, and cold press watercolor paper.
Stamped the image colored the petals and middle in rainbow colors.

Spread out the color using an aqua pen for a gradient effect.
Dabbed off some color to enhance the ombre effect even more.

CAS Bloom

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to be playing along with CAS Colours & Sketches, The Paper Players, and The Color Throwdown. I have incorporated both challenges which helped create this design. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Minimal color but very bold due to the contrast of black and white.
The red pops out too surrounded by a soft blue sky.

Light blue watercolor wash surrounds the
blooms giving them a place in space.
It is subtle, but you can see a bit of contour over the blooms.

Challenges Entered:
CAS Colours & Sketches: Challenge #273- Sketch
Color Throwdown: ctd494
The Paper Players: PP394- CAS 'blooms'

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

Rainbow Shimmer

Hello Everyone,

Today I would like to throw my hat into the CAS Watercolour Card Challenge. Rainbows are my absolute fav! My childhood room was themed all in rainbows- rainbow comforter, rainbow pillows with rainbow accessories, rainbow drapes, and finally, rainbow dressers! Oh yes, audience, the rainbow was my thing. That is why I was so happy to see this challenge at CAS Watercolour! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The 'frame' was made from water mixing with the paint and then
blotted away using a paper towel.
Like most pearlescent paint, it is the way the light hits the paint that will change its entire look. This is no exception. In the light, it is vivid with an iridescent texture. The paint out of the light enchants you with shimmer and color. Two very different outcomes using light as a medium.

I made this picture extra large to capture the shimmer of the paint.
The end product is so delightful, it makes me smile.

Potted Cactuses

Hello Everyone,

Today starts a new challenge at The Male Room. Our challenge theme for the next coming weeks is all about Gardening! You can choose objects, themes, and/or phrases that pertain to our theme. We want to see your interpretation of this theme. Just remember, to keep it masculine. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I can say yes, this is a garden. A potted garden full of succulents.
Crisp bright colored pots and hand striped border gives this card a southwestern flavor.
_______________

________________
The cactuses are a culmination of single images
that was put together using photo editing software.
Adding to the southwestern theme the word Spanish word 'gracias' means 'thank you' in English.
The recipient will surely appreciate its meaning!
Cacti or cactuses? That is the question! As noted, I am going with cactuses. Why? Well because the plural for octopus is octopuses (according to an NPR show about the squishy little guys. Scientists and experts were asked by the host which one was correct. The consensus, octopuses not octopi.) So, until I am corrected it will be cactuses. Thoughts and/or feelings will be appreciated.

Well, that should do it for me. If you haven't already done so, hop on over to The Male Room to see other inspirational cards by our talented design team. It is surely going to spark some ideas and then join our challenge. Looking forward to seeing you!! Until then, take care and happy stamping!

Semper Fi

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to be playing along with CASology and The Color Throwdown. Both challenges incorporate theme and color which helped create this design. The theme seems to be something different from the norm. Anyhow, here is my card for today, enjoy!

Semper Fi:
is the motto of the United States Marine Corps
usually shortened to Semper fi from the
Latin phrase Semper Fidelis- meaning 'always faithful'.
Bald Eagle
US National Emblem of the United States of America, because of its long life, great strength, and majestic looks, and also because it was then believed to exist only on this continent.(source)

Challenges Entered:
CAS-ology: Week 299- Marine
The Color Throwdown: ctd492

So why on earth would I choose an eagle, an animal for the air, to represent Marine?  To be honest the first idea that popped into my head was A Marine from the United States Miltary. A different take on the challenge, but to me, it seemed fitting since Memorial Day is right around the corner. Thank you again to all our Miltary and their families. Semper Fi!

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.
