Vintage Thanks

Hello Everyone,

I writing to let you know this will be my last post as DT for House of Cards. Life has gotten too busy for me to give the attention this beautiful and fantastic blog deserves. The team has been so supportive over the years! Their kind comments and reassuring words always made my day a bit brighter. I love this team and it was a hard decision to make.

House of Cards was my first DT position. They gave me the confidence to go ahead and create with aggressive energy... Thank you doesn't say enough to them; you have inspired, ignited, and expanded my creative mind in ways I would have thought impossible. Thank you.

Now that I am a bundle of tears I am going to show you my last DT card AND also wanted to let you know this is a blog hop! Follow HERE to find all the nitty-gritty details.

So without further ado, here is my card for today. Enjoy!

This card is a perfect example of marrying digital and stamped images.
You may have noticed from hoppin' around that this frame does look familiar.
It is a digital image from Digistamp4joy.
It is beautiful with the sentiment hand stamped inside the digital oval. You may have also noticed the crackle detail in the background; that too is also digital. The colored oval, however, is not digital. I printed out and colored with good old fashioned colored pencils.

Above: The rust colored satin ribbon seemed to be the perfect touch for the card's shabby elegance. The sketch instructed to have a banner on the other side of the card, but for me, that was not possible. So I thought adding the banner off the edge would be a beautiful touch. Below/Left: Can you believe this daisy embellishment is an earring! Yes, readers! I found it at a jewelry sale and because it didn't have its match it was free. I thought hanging the sentiment off it justifies the daisy. Plus, it is super cute! Bottom/Right: You may notice the shadow effect from the digi stamp. I will tell you it was manually done but digitally. A very short how-to: Take your digital image and make another layer and copy that image to that layer. Then use the brightness tool to darken the image. Move the image to create the shadow. I encourage you to play around with your photo-editing software and see what it can do! You will definitely be amazed!!!
