I hope you are having a great day since the last time I posted a few hours ago.. For me, good things and I cannot complain (knock on wood). As promised I am here on behalf of the Make My Monday Challenge Blog. First, here is my inspiration card.
Soft colors and intricate detail on the teacup make for a beautiful focal image for this vintage-like card. |
Theme for the week of 11/01 Shabby Chic |
I have a sneaking feeling that this card is more Art Nouveau than Shabby Chic but some of the elements of our theme are present. |
Old vintage image of the teacup is so pretty with all its flowers and gold flourishes. |
Colored the gold using PrismaColor pencils and then fussy cut the cup and added dimensional tape to pop it up off the card. |
Like I said earlier, I think this card does have a vintage feel but after completion I took a look back and thought 'hummm.... looks like an Art Nouveau card'. But the flourishes, embellishments, and colors are Shabby. So do I think this is a success? Yes I do, just a bit different then most cards of the same theme.. It is a different spin on it.... Right?
I do hope to see you at Make My Monday this week and you can show me what Shabby Chic really means! I am looking forward to see what you come up with this week.
Well that is it for me!! I am going to bed early due to the time change.. I am not a fan of Daylight Savings Time.. Fall back/Spring forward it doesn't matter it messes things up for a couple of days then we all get back to normal.. Hope everyone who celebrated Halloween had a safe and fun night... Take care all and see you sooner then later.
All the best,
Shawna
Oh, I would like to enjoy some tea from that pretty cup, Shawna!!! Whether you see it as Art Nouveau or Shabby Chic, doesn't matter - it's pretty and that's all that counts!!! Love the patterned papers you've used!!! So beautiful, my friend!!!
