The happy sentiment was erased to expose the ombre background underneath.
This technique can be done using the power of layers. Layers are commonplace with most photo editing software and are also easy to learn.

All those 'happy's' made a nice spot for the candles.
Some of which are popped up with dimensional adhesive. 

The candles are patterned paper from my stash cut into strips.
Look at the sparkle for the flame!! So pretty...
