Lucky Stripes

Hello All,

Welcome to TheGrandStampede! Today, I am will be playing along with Watercooler Wednesday Challenge, Less is More, and CAS(E) this Sketch. Wow! That is a whole lot of challenges packed into one card. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I have a 'lucky' sentiment die that I cut out of cardstock and then used the negative space as a stencil. The rainbow lines were used with Arteza fine tip markers and the 'Day' sentiment was embossed in gold for St. Patricks Day.

One layer card with a St. Patricks theme running through the design.

Rusty Steampunk

Hello All,

Today I am playing along with The Color Throwdown. I took a different approach to this challenge, instead of flowers, I chose to use the word 'rusty' quite literally... Well, sort of... Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Started off sponging white cardstock with layers of Fired Brick, Wild Honey, Seedless Preserves and Vintage Photo OXI; making sure the center of the card stayed light rust color.
I added water then pulled it up using a cloth creating a rusty backdrop. The added touch of texture of gray and black splatters makes it more interesting and distressed.
The gears and sentiment strip were die cut from purple CS that was then distressed using colored pencil and distress ink. Added three brads for interest and more texture.
I made this pic a bit larger so you can see the detail on the 'rusty' gears. I used the purple CS and colored the gray for the 'metal', purple, orange and red for the 'rust'. The illusion of dripping rust seems to work really well for this card.

Blue Waves

Of course late again!! I am playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch and The Paper Players. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Blue paper with white embossed waves. Prismacolor pencils colored in the waves using the spectrum of blues. The thick white lines were done freehand using a white Gelli Pen.
I think the best part about this card is the sentiment.
the 'you ... thanks!' seems to encounter a wave.
I thought it was symbolic for a thank you card.
A detailed shot of the different hues of blue and the amazing detail of the 'Doodle This!' stamp set from PTI. One of my favorite lines from PTI.

Tea Time with Flowers

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with Fusion. Their inspiration photo AND sketch were well... Inspiring! Here is my card for today, enjoy!
So much colorful choices were provided in the inspiration photo. I thought I would also bring in a wide variety of color into my card.

Cutting a circle in the middle of the card gives the card dimension without the bulk. I also die cut the wreath using SU DP. I stamped each flower the desired color, added the middle and die cut to create a beautiful wreath.

This an embossing of a die cut I have. These intricate die cuts take a shim or two to come out clean. Well, this was my shim. Click here if you want to see the card with the die cut. The shim now embossed layer was so pretty I couldn't throw it away. I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to use this imprint.

Hot Pink Spirograph

Hello All,

I know Valentines Day is behind us, but there is no reason not to have a card on standby just to say 'I love you'. So, for today I am going to be playing along with The Color Throwdown. Here is my card, enjoy!

The heart was created using the Spirograph! The CTD string art photo reminded me of the classic toy. I went through five-ish designs of Spirographs but this one was closer to what I was envisioning.
The embossed paper was a wonderful surprise I found in my stash.
I thought the original embossed heart pattern was a bit too much so I cut them into strips and reassembled the pieces. I think the random texture much more elegant.
I went to great care for an accurate color match. This was way harder then I thought. I was originally going with a light and medium pinks. Then I found some markers and this fabulous embossed paper and here is the final product.

XO- I just love you

Hello Everyone,

For being so cold outside it is certainly very warm in Blogland. All these love challenges are so toasty. So for today, I am playing along with The Paper Players and INKspirational. Here is my card, enjoy!

I tried my hand at a little Zentangle-ish. The dot swag stamp from Hero Arts was my starting point. Then by adding a few little embellishments, it turned into well, Zantangle-ish.
The painted gray background is part of a larger painting that I divided up into panels.
The paper that formed the letters is from the shaving cream technique I did quite some time ago.
Both patterns are pretty and coordinate so well together.
There is also some shine on the creation.
The raindrop shape is a muted glitter that shines more than sparkle. The dimensional dots are iridescent jewels. Love it!!

INKspirational: Challenge #180 - Word Prompt- Text

I don't know about all you northern climate parents out there, but my kids have had eleven, yes eleven, snow days. We have had storm after storm here in Michigan (good thing you aren't here Deborah Frings 😉!) It is freezing, freezing, freezing outside!! It was so cold that when I'd breathe I would start coughing because the air was too cold to inhale. My car froze to the garage floor. I had to give it some gas and it literally snapped into reverse. So why am here where I can't breathe? Well, I think this meme says it perfectly...
Yes friends, this is why.
Winter cold kills them and that makes me happy.

Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

Time to Welcome You Home

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch and If You Give a Crafter a Cookie. Kind of an interesting story behind this card. So, let's see it, enjoy!

Welcome home and clock hands are indicators of time.
Lots of times you are anxious to see your loved one home again.
Why not give them a card to make them feel extra special?
The bright colors of the panel contrast nicely with the neutral kraft background. The 'home' sentiment also pops off the page with its not-quite-white paint. I only used one layer of white so some of the wood would show through the paint.
The clock hands and pearl were just lying around. Who am I to throw such loveliness out in the trash? So they sat, and sat, and sat on my craft table. Until now! A perfect blend of formal and natural elements.
 Challenges Entered:

How did this card come to fruition? Well, to be honest, I had too many bits and parts laying around my craft table. I pulled them all together and made this card. The clock hands were a no go from another project but they were way too pretty to throw away. The 'home' sentiment was just lying around and I must have moved it a half-a-dozen times.

The contrast of the red, coral, and blue is so pretty; then match that with the miscellaneous pearl and clock hands makes for a striking design. I would like to say my table is clutter free but I can't. It is now full of all sorts of odds and ends. So, until next time...

Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

Conversation Hearts

Hello Everyone,

For today I will be playing along with a host of blogs. It seems that love is in the air in Blogland. I will be entering INKspirational, PINspirational, Double D Challenges and Creative with Stamps. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The conversation hearts background stamp by Peddlers Pack is just adorable.
Coloring the hearts was so fun. It got tedious when I colored the background a light shade of gray.
Because as we all know, conversation hearts have red words.
The sentiment 'Let's' is from another stamp set. It says 'Let's Party', so naturally I only stamped the 'Let's' part of the sentiment on black paper and heat embossed in white.
I have sequin hearts in my stash and thought I would never use them. So, I kept them just in case.
Well, here we are using sequins hearts, who would have known. I also added iridescent sequins for a bit of variety.
 Challenges Entered:
Double D Challenges: Month of Hearts
Inkspirational: Challenge #180- Text
PINspirational: Challenge #232
Creative with Stamps: Challenge #35- Love

Dotty Thanks

Hello Everyone,

For today I am playing along with Freshly Made Sketches. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

As you can probably see this card was directly inspired by the FMS sketch.
Very easy, as you can probably tell, I stamped the halftone circles by Altenew in ROY G BIV order. Then I used other smaller stamps from other sets to supplement the halftone circles.

The sentiment is also from the Altenew stamp set.
Gems were used to add a bit dimension and bling.
The gems are also in ROY G BIV order.
