Color and Birds

Hello Everyone,

For today I am going to be playing along with Freshly Made Sketches and Tuesday Throwdown. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Lots and lots of color adorn this eclectic design.
I was going to throw this panel away until I stamped the dots.
Now I love it!!
A detailed look at our tropical birds
just dropping in to say hello!

So, I am surfing Pinterest (which is never a good idea when you need to make dinner.) I came across a technique with Sharpie's and rubbing alcohol. Note: You also need a nonporous medium. In my case, I used photo paper. First, you scribble Sharpie all over the surface then blend it using the alcohol. Upon further inspection, I needed to use the 91% rubbing alcohol. Dang! But then an idea!! I substituted rubbing alcohol with blending solution and it worked like a dream. I then stamped a retired dot stamp from SU with white pigment ink. I spraying the stamp with water and here is your result! I thought tropical birds would coordinate well with the tropical colors. Three enamel dots and a white sentiment finishes off the design!

Well, thank you so much for dropping in to spend time with me. I really enjoyed this project. A lot of fun to create! I will be back, so until then take care and happy stamping everyone!!

All the best,
Shawna
