Country Tea Cups

Hello All,

For today I am entering challenges The Paper Players and The Card Concept. Here is my card for today. Enjoy!

Lots of patterns, textures, and dimensional elements adorn this card.
I was designing with the country cottage in mind. I love the teacups by Stampendous.
The vellum adds a nice frame for the cups. Adding a bit of detail on the
edges of the vellum seem to make all the difference.

 Challenges Entered:
The Paper Players: Sketch Challenge- PP460
The Card Concept: #120- Cozy Cottage

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

Kindness Matters

Hello Readers and welcome back, again!

I have been so inspired by the Color Throwdown. However, I do promise this will be the last Color Throwdown challenge card. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I originally laid the light green panel over plain ivory CS. It was too stark it needed something, maybe a bit of texture. So I pulled out my collection of embossing folders and found this one. I think it adds just enough interest without making it too busy plus, the light green is void of any texture which is a nice buffer.

I used the leftover die-cut from my inlaid card and used it for this card. This was done by die-cutting the lighter green leaving the negative space open. I then added the teal behind the light green. I inlaid the origami butterfly only by its body so that its wings could be projected out. Lastly I gently placed the sentiment on the wings.

A close up of the origami butterfly showing the teal showing through the light green negative space. Over those layers is the purple origami butterfly. Just fantastic!

Origami Inlay

Hello Readers and welcome back!

I have been so inspired by the Color Throwdown that I had to keep going. I used her dress for the Floral Sympathy now I am using the color palette only for this card. AAA Cards had an inspired idea too. Use a third with optional inlay. Yes, please! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Dimensional origami butterfly that was die-cut white then inlaid the color pieces per the Color Throwdown. Lastly, I added another white die-cut over the colored pieces for a cleaner look.
The background color consists of a simple ivory and medium ivory diagonal stripe. I like the stripe because it mimics motion and movement. Which we all know butterflies move every which way.
A close-up shot of the origami butterfly and its inlaid pieces. The butterfly is layered three times which brings a ton of dimension to the CAS card.
This color combination is just so beautiful!
 Challenges Entered:
AAA Cards: CAS Game #149- Up to one-third and inlay
Color Throwdown: ctd561

Floral Sympathy

Hello All,

For today I am entering challenges CAS(E) this Sketch and Color Throwdown. Here is my card for today. Enjoy!

Unfortunately, I noticed that I am dangerously low on sympathy cards.
I thought this flower stamp by Altenew would be a perfect focal point.
The color scheme for this card comes from The Color Throwdown. I lightly sponged the ivory card stock using 'cracked pistachio'. I stamped the background flowers and colored them a darker teal using Copic Ciao's.
I added some bright white sprigs around the flower. I thought it would add a touch of contrast against the ivory background; plus a bit of dimension.

Heavy Metal

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch, Double D Challenges, and The Paper Players. I loved these challenges because it allowed me to pull out supplies that I haven't used in a long while. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Above: The metallic effect is all over this card. Yet it still has tons of white space! The 'shine' sentiment was foiled using the Minc and placed over a dark brown foam shadow.  The leaves are from a card kit (SSS I believe) colored using Copic markers and then foiled using the same color as the large 'shine' sentiment. Left/Below: This shot illustrates the metallic foil out of the light. It illuminates the colors of the foil against the autumn colors of the leaves. Right/Bottom: This shows the card in both light and dark. A kind of ombre effect. All the white really allows the elements to pop off the card.

A detail shot of all the elements on the card. All done using the Minc. The dark matte craft foam was a wonderful touch allowing the 'shine' sentiment to... well... shine!

Challenges Entered:
Double D Challenges: Focus on the Sentiment
The Paper Players: CAS Challenge- PP459
CAS(E) this Sketch: CTS#340

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

Geek is Chic

Hello Everyone,

I have the pleasure to be a guest designer at Addicted to CAS. What a joy to work with such talent. Their theme this coming fortnight is 'style'! Without further ado here is my card today, enjoy!

A one layer card that says all that Bill Gates and Elan Musk wanted to hear in High School that geek is chic! The glasses with tape, the plaid shirt with suspenders all scream geek. I decided the geekish elements needed to be anchored amongst all the white space by stamping a ledger grid in Wild Hare by ColorBox.

Challenge #168
"Style"
 ____________________

There is a bit of unintended dimension to this card. The 'tape' between the glasses was a last-minute addition. I used a white paint pen to add the 'tape' which left behind some bumpy texture from the pen. In real life, it looks lifelike with all its beautiful geekish bumpiness.

I have said it once and I'll say it again; CAS is a very controlled thought out art form. Keeping it simple is not exactly an easy thing to achieve. This was one of the hardest challenges I have done to date. I went through at least eight to ten ideas on what to do and then eight to ten drafts on what it was going to look like. I asked my kids, husband, and friends what style meant to them. They all had different ideas, thanks but well.... no thanks.

To me, I wanted 'style' to look like smart, confident, or happy. What did that mean? Well, it was a journey but I finally go there with this design.

Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. Also, I want to thank my hosts, Addicted to CAS for this gracious honor! Thank you all and I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.
