Ridiculously Red

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with Crafty Gals Corner, Creative with Stamps, Watercooler Wednesday Challenge, Tuesday Throwdown and Addicted to Stamps and More. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This red love card has lots of elements and textures. Examples of this would be glittery 'love' to the layered die-cut and the designer paper in the background.
This monochromatic card has brown as its dividing color. The scallops on the heart would be one example. The shadow from the patterned paper on the background would be another.
I layered the diecut with the outermost die being a reflective red color. I stamped the heart and heat embossed brown. The sentiment is from a scrap piece of red adhesive glitter in which I inlaid a tiny brown die-cut heart.
Challenges Entered:
Crafty Gals Corner: Challenge #204- Add a Heart!
Creative with Stamps: CWS #47: Red
Addicted to Stamps and More!: Challenge #378- Holiday
Watercooler Wednesday Challenge: WWC260- All About Occasions
Tuesday Throwdown: #451- Use Your Favorite Color

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

Making Rainbows

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with The Paper Players, Retro Rubber Challenge and The Library Challenge. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

A rainbow nestled in the clouds. The upper color maybe some rain. The middle clouds punched out for some texture and depth. The lower layer blue skies. The sentiment could not be better for this card.
You can see in better detail the clouds at the center of the card. I added some clouds before adding my rainbow panel then layered the clouds on the rainbow and over the others under the panel for depth and continuity.
I don't have any special rainbow dies. All you need are concentric circle dies to achieve a rainbow. The red color was the largest circle followed by a smaller circle which created the red rainbow strip. I then took the smaller of the red circle die and that became the largest for the orange die. Do this in sucession and you will get a rainbow.  I taped the back to keep all the pieces together until it was adhered to the card panel.
 Challenges Entered:
The Paper Players: PP479- Sketch Challenge
The Library Challenge: Challenge #53- Elmer
Retro Rubber Challenge: #rrcb129- Theme Challenge
The sentiment stamp is from Papertrey Ink- April 2015

Purple Nurple

Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch, My Heart Color Dare, and Joy of Sets card challenges. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I stenciled the background using DI's. I thought the CAS(E) this Sketch was interesting this week because the sketch shows the ombre going toward the corner. Usually, we see the ombre go into the card. I thought it was clever and had to give it a try.
The balloons and 'happy' sentiment are from the August Hero Arts kit.
The 'happy' sentiment was diecut four times, the top layer adorning the purple paper to match the balloons.
Look at the... well... I don't know what to call it... The brilliance of this HA paper. It is so dreamy and wonderful I can't even stand it!!! The banner I stamped and heat embossed 'birthday' using the color purple.
Challenges Entered:
CAS(E) this Sketch: CTS #360
Color My Heart Color Dare: Color Dare #382- Monochromatic Purple
Joy of Sets Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge: #JOSTTT014
I chose Purple-Embossing-Oval
  The Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge Grid for February 2020 - #JOSTTT014

Wildflower Power

Hello All,

Hard to think about Spring when there is accumulating snow happening as we speak. But I saw Creative Knockout Challenge and its title is all I needed 'Flower Power'. Perfect!!! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This cheery cluster of wildflowers was stamped using various shades of green and pink then colored the voids using Prismacolor pencils.
Above: Wildflowers are from a retired SU set. Very much like spring with sprigs of color and green grass. Left/Below: The cluster of three exact flowers were done just by stamping. Meaning no fancy masking because of the see-through nature of the stamp it was very easy to cluster the flowers. Right/Bottom: The sentiment is also from one of my favorite retired SU sets. You can see the stamp with the swirls in its entirety attached with the sentiment the other swirls were from the same stamp just positioned differently. The grass and sentiment were masked using a strip of scrap. All I did with the grass is flick my colored pencil upward and filled in the bottom with a darker shade of green.

Challenges Entered:
Creative Knockouts: #338-Flower Power

Cacti Wishes

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with As You See It and Inspired By Challenges. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Distressing the edges and around the cacti seemed appropriate for the design. The background paper is slightly distressed and it only seemed fitting the edges should be the same.
The cacti were stamped and white embossed directly on the background. I then used Prismacolor pencil to lightly color in some base white color. Lastly, I went in with color. The white base helped make the colors stand out.
The strips of paper were positioned per the sketch. I wanted to keep a southwest feel by using natural colors and geometric patterns that are often found in that area of the U.S.A.
Sorry, no hives here.
A detail shot of the cacti showing the Prismacolor pencil color that was applied. I depict a bit of cartoonist shadow for my playful images. The glow around the cacti was treated the same as the border of the card. Light and medium gray tones show off the colors on the cacti.

Sea Turtle

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with Just Us Girls and Addicted to Stamps and More. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I think it was the rays of the water that inspired me to create this card. I started with a piece of light blue CS; the color I started with is the same color as the border of this card.
Also, I enjoy the elements on the bottom of the card. It reminds me of an old shallow-water shipwreck with the rusty anchor and lantern.
I sponged the already light blue CS using Salty Ocean, and Faded Jeans DI's. I made sure to leave a spot clean for the spotlight. The spotlight was inked using Hero Arts Unicorn White ink. I used the same color for the sunrays by masking and then sponging on the edge of the scrap paper and working the color out in an ombre effect.
The sea turtle was colored using Copic markers. I did an image search on Google to make sure the colors were at least close to realistic. I think starting with light blue cardstock creates an ambiance or overlay of being in the water.

All the best,

Calm

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with CAS Colours & Sketches and Freshly Made Sketches. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Stamped the koi fish using the layered stamp set by Hero Arts. Then masked off a circle and added color to the circle. I decided to use a bit of white colored pencil to wash over the fish for some depth.
A scrap piece of paper was used for part of the border then a kraft CS strip followed by the sentiment 'Calm'. Three elements per FMS sketch were challenging but in the end, I think it worked out.
Diecut letters from Altenew were cut three times from white CS.
I decided to keep the fill pieces at the bottom layer (closest to the card) open for an airy look and some depth.
Challenges Entered:
Freshly Made Sketches: FMS423
CAS Colours & Sketches: Challenge 358- Colors

This card is very appropriate for today. Why? Well a Comcast service truck decided to pull in front of my car while I was taking the kiddos to school. A friend of mine picked us up and dropped us at school. Where my husband picked me up. I got home and decided to work on this card. It has been bouncing around in my head for a while but now I thought it would a perfect time to execute the idea. Calm seemed to be a perfect sentiment koi fish.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

Lemon, Orange, Pink or Texas Red Grapefruit

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with CAS Colours & Sketches and Twofer, Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge Blogs. Two cards using the same lemon/orange/pink or Texas Red grapefruit stamp (I used to work at a produce store). The cards I am entering are noted at the top of the images. Here are my cards for today, enjoy!
~~~~~~~~
First Card
(for Twofer, CAS Colours & Sketches, and Color Dare)
The pink backdrop is meant to give the idea of a picnic blanket. I traced the edge of the 'blanket' with a cool gray alcohol marker for a bit of definition.
Lots and lots of white space make the colors of the blanket and fruit pop off the page.
I thought it didn't need any embellishments. It is crisp, refreshingly bright, and CAS.
~~~~~~~~
Second Card
(for Twofer Challenge)

 This card reminds me of a night out with friends.
All sorts of fruit go in all sorts of drinks.
Appletini or Oberon beer anyone?
The squares are from a background from years ago. I didn't like the card design but I did like the backdrop. I thought it was fun and funky. So what better way to use it then with such a fun card.
Bright mirror dots bubble up from one of the glasses. The round citrus images compliment the recycled background.
Challenges Entered:
CAS Colours & Sketches: Challenge #357
Twofer Card Challenge: Challenge #24- Fruit (Both card designs)
I chose Raspberry, Pixie, and Lemonade
