Scribbled See-Through Card

 Hello Everyone,

I have the pleasure to be a guest designer at Retro Rubber Challenge. I am so happy to be in the company of such talented and nice ladies. This challenge features a sketch. At first, it stumped me but then 'Eureka'! So, without further ado here is my card today, enjoy!

White die-cut on a white background shows detail without it being too distracting. The ornament shows brilliantly against the navy blue oval.

This photo illustrates the see-thru effect. The oval is placed on the back of the front oval to prevent seeing glue marks that were made by adhering it to the front oval.
The banner and sentiment I thought were small enough not to block on the other side of the card.

Well, that is all for me!! I want to thank Retro Rubber Challenge again for this amazing opportunity by being their guest designer. It is truly a pleasure. The Retro Rubber Challenge gals have been fantastic hosts.

I also want to thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to join me at TheGrandStampede. If you are new to my blog, please consider following me to get all my postings. If you are so inclined to leave a comment and let me know how I am doing, that would be great too.

I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. Stay safe and healthy!!

All the best,

Moonshine

 Hello Everyone,

For today I will be playing along with the Twofer card challenge. Here are my cards for today, enjoy!

The two cards feature the moon in two completely ways. One is graphic and the other more traditional. The moon was part of the June's My Hero Monthly kit.

The two moon diecuts collectively create a graphic design element.
The sentiment consists of two circle dies offset to look like.... well... a crescent moon.

I added an adhesive gem between the two elements for separation. Without the gems, it didn't seem to make sense. This was a good way to distinguish the elements.

A small pictoral tutorial of how I worked this design. I played around with the design elements and when I found one I like I die-cut a template. This way I could insert the moons in the right place all the time without mess or inconsistency.

Second Card

I found inspiration for this card on Pinterest (DUH! 😉). See here. The aurora intrigued me and thought I would try to CASE the pin I saw. Easy-peasy right? Wrong! This was probably one of the hardest cards I have ever created.

Trying to replicate the 'glow' of an aurora and Seeka's card was very challenging. After four tries I think I got it. A bit darker but the glow is there 😎.

I didn't want the aurora to be seen through these openings. So, I added some gray cardstock to cover the color behind it.

Challenges Entered:

Twofer: Challenge #30- Sun/Moon

This is a wonderful encouragement card and I am giving to a person who made my son a mask for school. His face didn't fit any mask I provided so I asked my neighbor and she agreed. So along with this card, I am giving her nine more as a thank you and I'm slipping some cash in there too.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. Lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. I hope you all have a fantastic day and please stay safe and healthy.

Crayons

 Hello Everyone,

For today I am playing along with Sketch Saturday Retro Rubber Challenge and The Paper Players. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This is a single stamp from Darkroom Door- link here.
All I did was pop this card into my MISTI and stamped the image.
Colored the crayons using polychromo pencils and put the panel on an A2 card.
I liked using the polychromos because of its transparent quality.

This was a very simple and easy design that I am going to replicate for other teachers.
I like the whiteness around the colorful crayons. The sentiment is right on theme for the card too.

I wanted the apple to have a blackboard quality. So I distressed it using white pigment ink around the edges. Then stamped the sentiment and traced over it to mimic chalk handwriting.

Challenges Entered:
Sketch Saturday: Week #623

Girl Group

 Hello Everyone,

For today I am playing along with Retro Rubber Challenge, Less is MoreNBUS, INKspirational, and CAS(E) this Sketch. I got this stamp on clearance. CLEARANCE!! I was astounded and thought it was a mistake. Nope! So, I am so excited to be using it for the first time. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The stamp is from Spellbinders and illustrated by Jane Davenport called 'Girl Group'. The name is so fitting and holds true. Us girls do tend to group up and stick together.

The sentiment was adhered using dimensional adhesive. The 'Girl Group' was stamped in black and colored using Copic markers in various colors of 'E' 😄. I added periwinkle, gray, light green, and blue for the eyes and eyeshadow. This was done for a bit of color.

This stamp shows we are all beautiful.
This is a fabulous encouragement card for any girl or woman who needs to be lifted up.

Stippled Beach

 Hello All,

The other day I ran into a video from Jennifer McGuire in regard to a technique she called 'dotting'. Linked here. I remember did an entire project back in college using this technique. So for today, I will be playing along with Freshly Made Sketches and Color My Heart Color Dare Challenges. Here is my card for today, enjoy!!

The tropical flowers add a nice boundary for the stippled beach. The beach consists of three sand colors and two water colors. I wanted to leave some white between the beach (brown) and the water (blue) to suggest white ocean foam.

The tropical flowers and ocean/beach were colored using various alcohol markers.
Stippling with alcohol markers is very relaxing and easy to do with results that I think are pretty pleasing.

You see the blue stipple that radiates out to a thinner
consistency then fading into white then the beach.

Sailboats

 Hello Everyone,

I am back from vacation and feeling so refreshed. Had some time to settle down and getting back into crafting. So, for today I will be playing along with The Paper Players. I love, love, love color challenges and this one is no exception. I am also playing along with NBUS. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I just celebrated my birthday and got a gift from my Aunt. She lives right on Lake Michigan and always mentions the sailboat races happening in the summertime. It is a very pretty sight to see. I thought this card would be a perfect thank you to her for such a perfect gift!

I decided on a slimline card because it gave a 'panoramic view' of the boats.

The sailboats stamp set is from Inkadinkado.  I stamped the sailboats in very light chalk pigment ink and left it to dry overnight. The next morning I started coloring the boat using Prismacolor pencils using The Paper Players color scheme.
