Inverse

Hello All,

FOR TODAY i WILL BE TALKING ALL ABOUT INVERSES. tHIS IS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF INVERSE. i SHOULD BE USING CAPITALS AND LOWER CASE WORDS IN ITS REVERSE ORDER. I know it is hard to read or worse yet it is even harder to type. For this card, I will be playing along with Just Add Ink. One more time with inverse!!! sO, HERE IS MY CARD FOR TODAY, eNJOY!
Inked up the background using Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans, Milled Lavender, Tattered Rose, and Seedless Preserves. I sprayed it with water and lifted the ink. Then with a large dropper plopped some water down and picked it up using a terry cloth.

Using the Dahlia Turnabout Die I cut all the flower by turning the die, not the paper.
I turned it four times and kept the petals to place in its inverse spot. It makes for a very interesting mosaic.
I stamped the entire sentiment on the card then stamped it again on gray paper and embossed white with some silver. Cut out the strip and attached it directly on the stamped image that was on the card base.

Thank You in Quotes

Hello All,

Today I am playing along with Freshly Made Sketches.  This card was made in a string of thank you notes for my crafty campers. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Adding diamond PP with harlequin PP seemed like a stretch but I think it works outstandingly! Bringing the color from the diamond paper to the harlequin paper is what makes it work so nicely.
The quote from is from PTI, if my memory serves correctly. I thought it fit so nicely with the sketch. Again using color to bring the card together.
By far what makes this card is the 'you' sentiment. It was larger than life die-cut! The die was cut fives times and layered on each other to create a fantastic sense of depth.

Tidal Wave

Hello All,

Today I am playing along with Color Throwdown.  Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I love this wave stamp set by The Ton! It creates such drama and movement to the card.

One of my favorites about this card is the sun setting/rising in the sky just under the wave. The gradient from yellow to purple only brings out the wave further.

Adding just a bit of sparkle to the card seemed
essential since the water was involved.

Beautiful You

Hello All,

Today I would like to play along with Time Out Challenge and Color My Heart Color Dare. Now I am not one to be a fashionista but I saw the Time Out challenge and thought of a digi stamp I bought a while ago. It embodies beauty, class, style and I love it!!! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I love this image from A Day for Daisies. She is so pretty and that dress is something else.
The stamp is titled 'Hepburn's Dress' and I had no idea what Audrey Hepburn's dress looked like. Was it a famous dress? I had no idea.
All I found were black dresses! I also wanted to fit into Color Dare so I changed the iconic dress color to a dark pink hue. I think it works better for the design to add a splash of color.
The design needed some movement in the background as it does on the dress. So I enhanced the design by creating a diagonal divide. All I did was cut around the bottom of the dress and added a black stripe. Then layer the sage color under the dress.
The sentiment came from two different dies. The word 'beautiful' comes from Tim Holtz and the word 'you' from SU. I thought angling the 'beautiful' was a nice touch to continue the diagonal line across the card.
Challenges Entered:
I chose Pomegranate, Sugarplum, and Sage

Graphic Circles

Hello Everyone,

For today I am going to be playing with Addicted to CAS. It is always a challenge for me to do a one layer card but here we are with my best! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This card was created using the masking technique. I got my inspiration from a delivery truck that passed by me while I was at a stoplight. Strange where the 'aha' moment materializes.
I die-cut a piece of scrap using the circles. Then sponged Distress Oxide ink over the circles creating the one layer while leaving lots of white.
While the mask was still in place I used a straight ruler and drew lines indicating a horizon line.
I like how the sentiment and how it spills into the other circle. The colors blended flawlessly. I have to say, this is one of my best one layer cards yet!

Mermaid Shaker

Hello All,

For today  I am going to be playing along with Cupcake Inspirations.  As you may have known from a previous post, I created a craft camp for my nephews and their friends. It was a great time and I want to thank them personally with a handmade card. This is the card I have for you today, enjoy!

What a dreamy background!
It was created using 110lb CS, acrylic paint and a dry brush.
The waves were cut from a wave cover plate.
I cut off part the die to reveal what I wanted in the scene.
Surprise!
the mermaid tail is a shaker filled with sparkly bits.
The background on the tail matches the waves. Also, the tail itself is made from glitter paper.

Sending...

Hello All,

For today I am going to be playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch and Inkspirational. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This is a very simple and quick card to create. The travel markings in the background are a single stamped image on kraft cardstock. The postal stripe was stamped white and then colored in using colored pencils. I die-cut the sentiment 'sending' three times and stacked them on each other.
I think the die-cut and the stamped 'many thanks' work well together.
It completes the sentiment without the 'many thanks' being too intrusive.
I had to write some thank you notes the other day and thought this simple design would be perfect to replicate.

Destination

Hello All,

I hope everyone is happy and creating a lot of wonderful cards. For me, well, I have been very busy making cards too, just not showing them off, until now. This card was inspired by Inkspirational. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

As you can probably see this resembles a very well-traveled suitcase.
I used a scrap piece of PP and further distressed by stamping the 'cracks' and darkening the edges of the card. The travel badges are from another stamp. I used the ones I wanted from the stamp and scrapped the rest. But I have to say my favorite badge is the 'handle with care'. Notice it ripped and tattered. Anyone who has traveled knows the joke very well.
I used an old PP set for the buckles. I cut them buckles out colored the 'metal' with a VersaMark pen and embossed it chunky gold. I also distressed the 'leather' by shading and highlighting.
The sentiment was put together using different materials. 'Destination' was die-cut once using dark brown and two layers of white underneath. I felt if the white wasn't there it wouldn't pop or go along with the stamped sentiment that was white embossed on the same dark brown paper as the die-cut.

Unicorns and Coffee

Hello All,

I hope all is well with everyone and I must say it has been a while since my last post. Like most of us, Summer has been very busy! Camp Creativity at Michaels kept me very busy along with my own camp I created for tweens and teens. I had about four kiddos and it has been so fun! I have been crafting but just not blogging. I hope when this fall starts all that will change. More good news to share I am honored to be the guest designer at Retro Rubber Challenge! Their theme is probably one of my faves, Anything goes! So without further ado, here is my card for today, enjoy!

This card is mostly digital but there are some stamps that are on the older side! For instance, The banner of words on the bottom is an older Fiskers stamp from a set I do not remember. Also, the 'here's to you' is an older SU stamp that I purchased from Ebay about two years ago. The rest of the card is digital. I used 'the grounding' techinique for my unicorn coffee images. I think it turned out beautifully.

Desert Divas are the creators of these beautiful unicorn cups. Their digis are one of the best in the biz. Check them out I think you will like them.
This is a detail shot of the banner sentiment are from my older stamp set from Fiskers. All I did was pop the stamp on the MISTI and stamped it across the bottom of the card..
Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. Also, I want to thank my hosts, Retro Rubber Challenge for this gracious honor! Thank you I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.
