Sunflower Delight

Hello Everyone,

For today am playing with Just U Girls and Sketch Saturday  and have used their inspiration for this design. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

To me this sketch needed a pretty significant focal point. This
larger then life sunflower fits the bill perfectly.
I thought a one word sentiment fit nicely for the design.
I really like white background! It allows all the colors to pop!!
I tried other background colors but white worked the best!
Entering Challenges:
Sketch Saturday: #401 by Cathy
Just Us Girls: #333- Word Week: Flowers

What a fun and (pardon the pun) delightful card. Sunflowers have always been cheered up when looking at these remarkable plants. They have always have put a smile on my face. Some of you may have seen these flowers in real life, some not. If you haven't had the joy of seeing a real sunflower I want to sum them up in one word; gigantic! Seriously one of the largest flowers I have ever seen. When I first encountered one I literally was a bit frightened. But then, as usual, it made me smile. I hope this card brings a smile to your face today; at least a little one..

Thank you so much for dropping by and spending your precious time with me today. Your visits whether you comment or not do mean a lot to me. If you feel so inclined to comment that would be great. If not, no worries I will still like you.. Have a great day everyone and we will see you soon.

All the Best,
Shawna

Wow what a fabulous sunflower card. The colours are gorgeous and great take on the sketch. So bold to use the size of the sunflower and is so works. Delightful sentiment and the most delightful card.

Oh, I love sunflowers, too, Shawna and your beautiful one definitely brought a smile to my face!!!! I love them in a vase in my house or out in nature - they surely are impressive flowers!!!! And nowadays one even gets ones that were cultivated to have much smaller flowers, hey, and they are just as pretty ...amazing what the scientists can do!!!!
I really like how you have done the center of the flower - looks like you have used a gold pen to add the tiny little dots and some lines at the base of the petals!!!! I also love how you've matted your sentiment panel on the red, black and kraft - it really looks great and add such a lot to the success of the card!!!! The little raffia bow goes so nicely with the flower!!! Beautifully done, my friend!!!
Have a super Sunday!!!
