For today I will be playing along with Twofer and Sunday Stamps Challenge. Here is my card for today, enjoy!
Card 1:
Distressed Slimline Card
Sponged the background using DI per the Sunday Stamps color pallette. I then wet the CS which left more of a distressed look. Put a lattice stencil on the CS and sponged using white pigment ink. Lastly added stenciled blotches and stamped flourishes to finish the distressed look. For the butterflies, I heat embossed on vellum and adhered them to the card only by their bodies so the wings would be free.
Card 2:
Translucent Butterfly
The background was stenciled using gold'ish shimmer spray. I masked off the blue chevron for interest. Adhering the stencil with Pixie Spray was a miracle worker! |
Using the MISTI I stamped the butterfly on the dried CS and then colored the wings with a white colored pencil. I then added some Wink of Stella for some sparkle. |

Such a pretty background - beautifully sponged! The wings look gorgeous over all that color! Thanks so much for playing at Sunday Stamps!
Those delicate vellum butterflies are just so pretty, Shawna ... and so delicate against the vibrant background! What a rich, shimmery, gold stencilled spot for your solo butterfly to alight ... the white pencil colouring was a great idea ... it makes the wings look translucent! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)
That's a great butterfly image, Shawna, and it sure looks gorgeous embossed in white or stamped in black with white and winky highlights! You've given each way an amazing background, too. I love both distinctly different designs!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #29! Keep well! Hugs, Darnell
I love all the detail in both of your backgrounds, Shawna! It was fun to read through all the layers that went into your slimline card. The white embossed vellum butterflies just pop off the bg! Your chevrons and flourish bg is wonderful, but there's something about the blue chevron detail that takes it to a whole new level. I love how translucent that butterfly looks with the white pencil. Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!
What a lovely card! The background you created is fantastic and looks fabulous against the white embossed vellum butterflies! Thanks so much for playing along with the challenge at Sunday Stamps! :)
