Hello All,
Today I will be playing along with Rainbow Card Challenge. Their color this month is mauve. This is not my favorite color on the planet so I thought I would take on the challenge! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

| The sentiment came from another paper pack and I thought it fit perfectly with the roses. A simple strip of dark mauve said just enough. |

| This card was created using the Altenew Craft-a-Flower: Rose Layering Die Set. I have tried with other designs to get it to look like a rose but to no avail. The colors weren't right because they were in the wrong family. So I thought I use a color challenge to force me to stay within the mauve color family. |

| I started with a paper pack that included all shades of mauve. So I plucked them out and went to work die-cutting. The leaves came from the same paper pack so I knew they would coordinate. |

Today I will be playing along with As You See it Challenge and the Rainbow Card Challenge. Their challenge was to create a card in ten minutes or less. Well, challenge accepted! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

| Another part of their challenge is to use scraps. No problem! All I had to do was just look at the piles on my craft table of projects that either failed or items kept for a future card. These are my scraps from my craft table turned into a card. |

| The stenciled dots background is a scrap from a failed project. I went to recycle it but then.... Why? All I did with the scrap was cut a strip off the bottom and placed the paper at an angle and added the strip to the card. It took a second to do but I think it has a fantastic impact. |

| So it just sat on my table. I also rounded up a scrap of wood patterned paper and the diecut sentiment. Cut the shadow from the wood scrap and placed the sentiment on top. The sequins are the only thing I had to 'get' and probably took the longest to place- 4 minutes to be exact. |

| Tone on tone and lots of layers created this beautiful monochromatic card. The outer layer is cut from a piece of teal patterned paper with gold embossed flowers. Once I die cut the paper the flowers were indistinguishable and became flex of gold throughout the card. |

| A single strand of twine is wrapped around the card with a gold flex around the sentiment. Again, you can see the gold is not overbearing it seems to be perfect for a top layer. |

| One layer CAS card featuring a stamp set by PTI. The retro feel is what makes this stamp so wonderfully lovable. |

| Fiercely Fushia is the color for this card. Stamped it on white with black ink. Then colored shades of fuschia in an ombre pattern. |

| Holy moly texture! I was inspired by a pin on Pinterest that used vellum for snowflakes. There were a lot of snowflakes on top then cascaded down to the bottom progressing to very little snow. I thought it was beautiful and tried to CASE it. The pinner only used vellum for the snow but I decided to go all out with the texture. I added foam dots on top of a circle cutting plate that sits on top of a polka-dotted background. |

| The snowflake detail is just wonderful for this card. I adhered white cardstock on foam and then diecut the intricate framed snowflake. I think, however, the sentiment steals the show. 'Warm xoxo' is, at least in my mind, very romantic. I can envision a cold snowy night sitting warm and comfy with your significant other hugging and kissing and well... You can fill in the blanks. I thought it would make for an unconventional Valentine's Day card. |

| Above: This shot shows the luster that comes into play. The flatness of the vellum to the glitter on the 'xoxo' shadow it all blends in nicely for this monochromatic card. Left/Below: As mentioned above I added lots of snow to the top of the card as you get closer to the bottom you see only random flakes. Reminiscent of the ombre effect. Right/Bottom: This gives you a good shot of the 'xoxo' sentiment. I diecut it twice, leaving one aside while the other one got some glitter treatment. The white piece was then placed on top and shifted a bit to expose its glittery shadow. |
