Flutter and Fly

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome to our June release from MHKDesigns! For today we are featuring our 'Flutter and Fly' set. As you can see from the other DT's examples, this set is truly one of the most versatile by MHKDesigns. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I think there is a misconception that you can't do much with digital stamps. Well, I am here to say YOU CAN!
Look at my card's complexity, depth, and visual elements. All done digitally. My best advice is to putter around with your photo editing software, watch some YouTube videos, and don't forget the help feature that comes with your software.
The only non-digital elements are the wooden arrows and heart.
I thought they were a nice added touch.

Above: The digital paper I used for this design is amazing!! The swirls converge to the focal image- the cage. Colors are delightful against the warm browns and tan. Left/Below: I added a few arrows pointing to a very graphic sentiment. I thought it would coordinate nicely. Keeping the wood accents natural does blend into the design.  Right/Bottom: It may be hard to see the cage. It is colored a metallic copper colored pencil. I really tried to keep the elements in the card neutral and clean

Flower with a Message

Hello Friends,

For today I have an inspiration card using your MHKDesigns digital stamps and papers. MHKDesigns makes it easy to create fantastic, elegant cards. Case in point, here is my card for today, enjoy!

I usually never introduce so many elements to my card, but in this case, I thought it was justified because of its feminine feel (or maybe, just maybe, shabby chic?) 😲.

I have always been inspired by Mynn Kitchen's digital work.
Especially now that she has been incorporating digital watercolor in her designs.
You can see the top left corner of the card has some digital watercolor too.
Fantastic effect and surely will be using this technique more times in the future.

I fussy cut the flower and puffed up the petals for dimension.
I added it back to the front panel along with the leaves, ribbon, and dots.

Let's Celebrate with Wine!!

Simple CAS card with lovely cheery colors!!
Left/Below: The wine glass from PT was die cut out of acetate.  Right/Bottom: I really enjoy the lustre gold accents. They compliment the colors so nicely.

CAS Fireworks

Hello Everyone,

For today I am going to playing along with AAA Cards and CAS(E) this Sketch. I really liked the layout and thought it had a lot of possibilities. There are many options, and this is what I settled on, enjoy!

Black space has replaced white space for this CAS celebration card.
I thought I would keep the sidebar clean and simple by
adding the same black that is used for the main panel.

I stamped the fireworks at different angles to make it seem like a random pattern.
I stamped the fireworks using ColorBox- Frost White pigment ink.
Whether it mattered or not, I thought I would get a better heat embossed image.

Lots of sparkle and shimmer really makes this card festive.

It is my cousin's birthday on the Fourth of July (USA's independence day). I don't know if I would want to compete with a holiday as my birthday. I happen to be lucky, my birthday is in August and here in the USA there are no holidays. 😁 If I had to share a holiday with my birthday than the Fourth of July would be perfect!! Fireworks that boom and bang, BBQ's that always bring amazing potluck food, friends, and family all get together to share in your joy. Yeah, the 4th is the way to go for a birthday.

Off the Edge

Hello Everyone,

Today is yet another day for a new challenge at The Male Room! These next coming weeks the challenge is all about 'Off the Edge'. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Bold, basic colors are perfect for a masculine card.
The geometric shapes are graphic and very masculine.

I really like the overlapping colors and shapes leading up to the sentiment.
The black enamel dots really makes the sentiment pop!!

Hello Again,

I was asked by Retro Rubber Challenge Blog to be their guest designer this week. I could not be happier to join such talent for this week. So here is my card for today. Enjoy!

A shaker/spotlight card. I stamped the Pedddlers Pack balloon stamp two times.
Colored one image and then die cut the middle for the window. I used the small piece where the sentiment can be found and adhered it directly on the acetate- making sure it lined up with the other non-colored image.

This a great example of how the images line up.
The sequins really makes this card so much fun!

The sentiment is a retired hostess set from SU called 'Happy Birthday Everyone'
This hostess set was offered in their 2015-16 Annual Catalog.
I think I joined Stampin' Up! just because of this stamp!!!
One of my birthday favs.

Wonderfully, I found out one of the Design Team members lives in the same town as myself. So we met up for some coffee (or in my case dessert coffee). What a joy to meet you Debbie and I promise we will get together again for a craft-date!!
