Sponged the background using DI per the Sunday Stamps color pallette. I then wet the CS which left more of a distressed look. Put a lattice stencil on the CS and sponged using white pigment ink. Lastly added stenciled blotches and stamped flourishes to finish the distressed look. For the butterflies, I heat embossed on vellum and adhered them to the card only by their bodies so the wings would be free.

| The background was stenciled using gold'ish shimmer spray. I masked off the blue chevron for interest. Adhering the stencil with Pixie Spray was a miracle worker! |

| Using the MISTI I stamped the butterfly on the dried CS and then colored the wings with a white colored pencil. I then added some Wink of Stella for some sparkle. |

| This was the best shot I could get showing the sparkle. After the sparkle has dried the butterfly was faded due to the white coloring and the addition of the Wink of Stella. So, I took my butterfly back to the MISTI and stamped it in black again. |

| The card of balance. Sun and Moon; Water and Light; Inhale and Exhale are all opposites are all things we need in balance. When in balance we have hopefully have 'happy days'. |

| The background was stamped using the words balance, exhale, inhale, and breathe. The color is stamped around the background to bring in the colors of the main image. |

| Stamped the image using graphite ink and colored it using alcohol markers. |

| The background of fireworks was created about two months ago. I wanted to play around with foil and enjoyed how it turned out. This is the image that inspired the subject of the card. The Statue of Liberty is from Stamppeddler. It is part of a larger image but I liked the shading (as I do with all their products) and thought cutting out the statue would give the illusion of the fireworks reflecting on the statue. |

| This card seems easy and it probably would have been but I wanted to get the sketch exact. I brought it into Photoshop Elements, cropped it to size, and printed it out. I then cut the sketch out and traced it on my CS and cut it out- creating a window. |

| The red swish was originally white CS but it looked stark with no personality. I carefully added some liquid glue on the strip and added red glitter. I thought it gave the design pop. It also made my decision on the sentiment color. |

| This card is all about masking. I masked the different areas to create the 'x' shape. The clock area was sponged using DI in Ground Expresso. I then added the stencil with Stormy Sky and Tattered Rose. It created a nice 'patina' for the card. |

| If you look at the lettering in the background you will see it corresponds with the 'be happy' banner. The background says: 'every second, every minute, every hour, every day'. The hourglass, heart sand, and sentiments are from a set of stamps called Sands of Time 2. |

| The hourglass is popped up using dimensional tape and fits perfectly on the card. I wanted to create some reflectivity, so I Googled 'shading hourglass' and came up with a pencil drawing to follow. It is certainly not as wonderful as the reference drawing but I thought it got the point across well enough. |

| This twist and fold is fast, easy, and comes with a surprise. It reminds me of an explosion card but I like the twist of this version. If you want the tutorial click here. |

| The flowers and sentiment are placed together when the card is closed but, as you see below, when opened they are on the corners. Perfectly balanced. |
