Today I am submitting a card for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge themed Special Lady/Girly. Yesterday I created a card that is masculine and today it is feminine. I hope you enjoy it!! I am saving it for my daughter's 10th birthday. She has been asking for it ever since I made it..
An unusual way to use the Hardwood stamp by Stampin' Up! Card Size: A2 5.5" x 4.25" |
What a sweet little girl colored in soft tones. |
I am just in love with this sweet little girl.. I saw this Penny Black stamp at a craft store and had to have it.. So I waited a few weeks and still had to have it! So here we are and that is what directed the entire design of this card. Very simple design yet very effective. Hence my daughter wants it.. LOL...
I took pink CS and heat embossed using the Hardwood stamp by Stampin' Up!. I think this detail is very important because it adds texture and interest to an otherwise plain background. Using pink for a backdrop with a wood stamp I think is fairly unusual, I just love it.. However, I didn't really want the embossing to shine so I ironed off most of the sheen.
Then I stamped the sweet girl and colored her in using my Prismacolor pencils. I kept her sketchy and free to show some whimsy. I then die cut a heart around the girl traced the heart with marker and ever so lightly distressed the edges in brown. Lastly I added the 'Simply Adored' sentiment which, I think, sums up the entire card.
Die-cut some hearts using a die from the then LifeStyle Crafts in dark magenta to play off the color of the dress. Small hearts scattered throughout the card is the perfect touch. No distracting bling, glitter, or pzazz.. Done!
I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know your comments; I just love hearing from you..
All the best,
Shawna
