Starry Night

Hello Readers!

I usually write a post at night but for this post I am writing it during the day which is kind of ironic because the theme of the AAA Cards Blog is to create a star scene. I think this card turned out so well.. Here it is, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do..

Simple yet a very effective watercolor sky.
Black became a dominate color but still has an air of lightness.

Challenge #43-Starry Night
This reminds me of a cloud nebula where stars are born and solar systems start to form.. It is kind of like a baby picture for a star system. I believe the most popular is Eagle Nebula or also called 'The Pillars of Creation' taken by the Hubble Space Telescope.

I am such a space nut... Total geek and I love it!! I have said this with a previous post that space is fascinating and full of unknowns that intrigues the imagination. And the mysteries we have discovered is equally as mind boggling.. Oh, here I go again.. Back to the challenge.

How to:
  1. Cut and scored my white CS to 4.25" x 5.5"- A2 size
  2. Cut watercolor paper smaller then the width of the base but leaving the same height.
  3. Wet paper in various areas and added color. Continued this process with multiple colors. Let it dry.
  4. Added sentiment using VersaMark Ink then heat embossed white.
  5. Added white 'stars' with a white gel pen.
  6. Adhered the watercolor panel to the CS panel.
  7. Added a black strip for balance.
  8. Punched out stars in various sizes then placed them on the card.
Well that is it for me today.. I hope all of you in blog-land are doing well.. Take care and please feel free to leave a comment good, great, or otherwise.. Thank you for stopping by..

Take Care,
Shawna

Absolutely stunning! And I love the colours and how they've mixed together - all that dark with hints of pink and yellow. I'm totally smitten! Thanks for sharing at AAA Cards.

Such a sky I am seen while once on the village, but in the distance was visible the glow of the city. Deep black intertwined with the urban glow red, and on this a lot of wonderful, glittering stars. The night sky is a book of mystery and love them. Thanks for this wonderful card, Shawna!

BozenA
