Sun and Clouds

 Hello All,

Today is my last post for CAS(E) this Sketch. Unfortunately, this will be their last challenge. So sad to see them go but I guess all good things must end. I will certainly miss them. So, here is my card for today, enjoy!

Going through my stash the other day and realized I have a handful of 'get well' cards. Well time to fix that! Starting with this card. I have been sending out these types of cards quite frequently because of the pandemic. I know some happy mail is always good for someone who is under the weather. 

The sun and clouds come from an old set by PTI (retired). Their 'What the Doodle' series was one of my favorites to collect. You can find the sketch in the design from this set. I added a bold vertical line using a straight edge and pens that fit nicely with the bold sentiment.

I got these rhinestone today from Honeybee Stamps. They add just the right bling to a project. I also added some stipple around the sun and clouds for a bit of emphasis.

Winter Birthday

 Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch, Challenge Up your Life, Addicted to CAS, and The Paper Players. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

One layer winter birthday card is for my daughter's fifteenth birthday! Wow, did time fly! She is one that caps off all of the birthdays in my husband's family. I am not kidding! My husbands father, mother, sister, my husband and my son all have birthdays around December! My daughter is the last of the bunch. The next birthday is mine, in August.

The snow 'wind' was done by mounting the stamp in the MISTI then stamped the first image. Lastly, I  flipped the cardstock and stamped it again. I think it gives a nice balance.

Stamped the snowflakes on white cardstock then heat embossed in white.
Sponged Iced Spruce, Salty Ocean, and Faded Jeans Oxide Inks over the base allowing the snowflakes to resist the ink.

Autumn Scene

 Hello Everyone,

For today I will be playing along with Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge, CAS(E) this Sketch, Creative Knockouts, and Just Us Girls. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The card started out with a kraft paper base. I stamped the plaid background while masking off the area for the trees. I took off the plaid mask, heat set, and masked off the plaid to stamp the trees. I took off the plaid mask, heat set, and masked off the plaid to stamp the trees.

The leaves were created using a combination of 'the baby wipe technique' and sponging using autumnal colors. I then die-cut the leaves and added them to the card.

This is one of the layered leaves I created using the same paper as the other leaves. I cut out the base of the leaf and then added two layers of white and the color layer for texture and dimension.

Watercolor with Flowers

  Hello Everyone, 

For today I will be playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch and The Flower Challenge. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

A simple one layer card using watercolor paper, water, DI's,
 and the long forgotten, Gelli Plate.

I put Worn Lipstick directly onto the Gelli Plate and some Squeezed Lemonade on my work surface. Simply sprayed water on the Gelli Plate and gently mixed it with the Squeezed Lemonade and added it to the paper.

I stamped the wildflowers in brown ink a couple of times. Watercolor paper has a ton of texture by stamping mulitple times I could get a clear image.

Stripes on Boat

Simple one layer card.

Girl Group

 Hello Everyone,

For today I am playing along with Retro Rubber Challenge, Less is More, NBUS, INKspirational, and CAS(E) this Sketch. I got this stamp on clearance. CLEARANCE!! I was astounded and thought it was a mistake. Nope! So, I am so excited to be using it for the first time. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The stamp is from Spellbinders and illustrated by Jane Davenport called 'Girl Group'. The name is so fitting and holds true. Us girls do tend to group up and stick together.

The sentiment was adhered using dimensional adhesive. The 'Girl Group' was stamped in black and colored using Copic markers in various colors of 'E' 😄. I added periwinkle, gray, light green, and blue for the eyes and eyeshadow. This was done for a bit of color.

This stamp shows we are all beautiful.
This is a fabulous encouragement card for any girl or woman who needs to be lifted up.

Celebrate!

Hello Everyone,

Today I will be playing along with Watercooler Wednesday and CAS(E) this Sketch. The U.S. just celebrated our Independence Day and thought this card would be appropriate. I left the sentiment ambiguous so I could be used for either a birthday, holiday party (well, not yet anyway), or anytime card. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The background of fireworks was created about two months ago. I wanted to play around with foil and enjoyed how it turned out. This is the image that inspired the subject of the card. The Statue of Liberty is from Stamppeddler. It is part of a larger image but I liked the shading (as I do with all their products) and thought cutting out the statue would give the illusion of the fireworks reflecting on the statue.

This card seems easy and it probably would have been but I wanted to get the sketch exact. I brought it into Photoshop Elements, cropped it to size, and printed it out. I then cut the sketch out and traced it on my CS and cut it out- creating a window.

The red swish was originally white CS but it looked stark with no personality. I carefully added some liquid glue on the strip and added red glitter. I thought it gave the design pop. It also made my decision on the sentiment color.
