In the Garden

Hello everyone,

For today I am entering Colour Q and on the request of my friend Monika, I will also be joining the Night Shift Stamping challenge as well.. I am going to show you my card which I thought would take me an hour or so. Instead it took ALL DAY!! Between the kids, grocery store, and dinner I just barely have enough time as it is right now 1:26am.. How embarrassing. Well here it is...

Piecing Patterns

Hello Readers!

I saw this adorable bow and heart and thought I must do some paper piecing.  It is a wonderful technique, easy, and has a nice subtle impact. To me, the little toddler was saying 'I'm sorry'. The way she is standing with her hands behind her back was just too much to resist a belated birthday card. 

The colors were brought out by the flower PP
in the background. It is sparkly but just couldn't capture it on camera.

The sentiment seems fitting for a little girl
who looks so remorseful.

You can see how the paper piecing shows so well
on the girl and the bears feet.

I would also like to enter the (PIN)spirational Challenge for this week. This photo is just too cute!! And I feel it fits perfectly with this adorable little girl... So innocent and kind!

 How to:

1. Cut my base card to 4.5"x 6"
2. Adhered blue PP to the base and set aside.
3. Printed sponsor image out on floral PP paper.
4. Fussy cut the collar, heart, bow, and teddy's feet. set aside.
5. Printed out the sponsor image again this time on white 110lb. CS
6. Colored image pulling colors out of the floral PP.
7. Outlined the image panel with black marker
8. Pieced the floral elements to the colored toddler then placed it on the card base.
9. Ran a green strip of paper down the side of the card.
10. Created a paper bow and glued it down on the card base.
11. Stamped sentiment cut into a banner and added it to the card base.

Happy Camper and 2D maps!

Hello to everyone!
Now that the weather is warmer and the sun is out it makes me think of popping up our camper for another year of.. Well... Fun! This is the third year we have owned our camper and we just love it. I have a camper stamp (of course) and thought it would be a perfect time to use for the Crafty Creations Challenge.

I stamped the road map with the soon-to-be colored road panels; leaving the bottom white per the sketch. Colored the panels and mounted them on dark brown CS. Then stamped and colored the camper then added a banner behind the image. I added a brown stripe for a division between the map and white space. Assembled the card added the sentiment cut it into a banner, adhered it and added a dot embellishment. DONE!

Well here it is I hope you like it.

A road map to celebrating good times!
Card size: A2- 4.25" x 5.5"

Left the bottom white per the sketch.

Do you remember 2D navigation systems called maps!! You know the ones, you unfold them upside down and try to figure out where in the $%&* you are; and when it is time to refold well... Good luck with that. It usually ends up something like a wad in your glove-box along with 5 other state maps you also couldn't refold.

Well I love maps and thanks to my eighth grade Geography teacher I DO know how to refold them. Thank you Mr. George!

So when I saw the road map stamp from Inkadinkado I just had to have it. The blocks of color could mean anything from neighborhoods, parks, rivers, highways, to industrial property, who knows. I just let my imagine run a muck.

The camper is a perfect compliment for the center image of this card.  Road trips and campers go hand-in-hand. I am sure at one of you have a story to tell about road-trips. In the end however, it is all worth it because you have excellent family time and memories to recall for years to come.
