Carnations for You

 Hello All,

For today I will be joining Freshly Made Sketches, NBUS, and The Color Throwdown. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This is a new stamp set from Altenew called Carnations. These flowers were my father's favorite and pink was his favorite color (because we all know real men like pink). So I have become fond of them myself.

The flowers were placed without glue then I used a piece of Glad Press and Seal (thank you Jennifer McGuire for the suggestion) and placed it over the layout. Pulling it back up with the layout nicely intact and ready to glue.

This is a layering set from Altenew. I think their layering sets are amazingly realistic. I also used a set of ink cubes by Altenew to make sure the pinks coordinated.
The blue background is a homemade scrap from a few years ago. I thought it added a bit of diversity, texture, and interest to the color challenge.

Challenges Entered:
The Color Throwdown: ctd625
Freshly Made Sketches: FMS468
NBUS: Challenge #22 and Happy New Year!

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. Lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. I hope you all have a fantastic day and please stay safe and healthy.

Geometric Landscape

Hello my CMHCD friends,

For today I am sharing our next challenge at Color My Heart Color Dare. This is the first card from me this New Year at CMHCD. I do hope this post finds everyone healthy and hopeful for a new year. The color challenge for today is absolutely beautiful. It kind of reminds me of Spring. I am wondering if anyone feels the same way. You can be the judge; here is my card for today, enjoy!

This lovely faceted stamp is a new one for me!
It is from Altenew called Geometric Landscape.
The geometric crane, also by Altenew, reinforces the geometric theme.

Now for our challenge!

I chose all the colors!

I decided to use all the colors on our palette because they are so beautiful together. After white heat embossing the geometric landscape stamp I went in with my Zigs and colored one side of the rhombuses and blended it out using an aqua brush.

I wanted to give it a more masculine feel so my husband can use it. That is why I went with the solid peacock color at the top of the card.

Challenges Entered:

My new stamp is Geometric Landscape and never used Ori Kami Stamp & Die Bundle from Altenew. Merry Christmas to me!!

Well, thank you again for taking the time out of your busy day to visit my corner of the internet. I do hope you will join us at Color My Heart Color Dare and play along.

Lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. I hope you all have a fantastic day and please stay safe and stay healthy. Until then take care and we will see you soon!

Girl Group

 Hello Everyone,

For today I am playing along with Retro Rubber Challenge, Less is MoreNBUS, INKspirational, and CAS(E) this Sketch. I got this stamp on clearance. CLEARANCE!! I was astounded and thought it was a mistake. Nope! So, I am so excited to be using it for the first time. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The stamp is from Spellbinders and illustrated by Jane Davenport called 'Girl Group'. The name is so fitting and holds true. Us girls do tend to group up and stick together.

The sentiment was adhered using dimensional adhesive. The 'Girl Group' was stamped in black and colored using Copic markers in various colors of 'E' 😄. I added periwinkle, gray, light green, and blue for the eyes and eyeshadow. This was done for a bit of color.

This stamp shows we are all beautiful.
This is a fabulous encouragement card for any girl or woman who needs to be lifted up.

Sailboats

 Hello Everyone,

I am back from vacation and feeling so refreshed. Had some time to settle down and getting back into crafting. So, for today I will be playing along with The Paper Players. I love, love, love color challenges and this one is no exception. I am also playing along with NBUS. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I just celebrated my birthday and got a gift from my Aunt. She lives right on Lake Michigan and always mentions the sailboat races happening in the summertime. It is a very pretty sight to see. I thought this card would be a perfect thank you to her for such a perfect gift!

I decided on a slimline card because it gave a 'panoramic view' of the boats.

The sailboats stamp set is from Inkadinkado.  I stamped the sailboats in very light chalk pigment ink and left it to dry overnight. The next morning I started coloring the boat using Prismacolor pencils using The Paper Players color scheme.

In the Garden

Hello Everyone,

For today I will be playing along with Wednesday Creative Inspirations- In the Garden! I will also be playing along with NBUS, and Watercooler Wednesday. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This a pic of the card laying flat. The sentiment is inside the card and gives plenty of room for a handwritten message inside behind all the 'clouds'.

This clearly demonstrates how the card is designed. The clouds surrounding the garden act as a good color buffer and, again, leaves lots of room for a written note.

I distressed the white clouds with Stormy Sky DI and colored the garden using Copic markers. The garden is a digi stamp from Power Poppy. All I did was print it out on regular computer paper (forgot to heavier CS in the printer), and colored it. The printer paper worked great with Copics! It has less of a tendency to bleed around the object you are coloring. I then adhered it to heavier CS and fussy cut around the garden.

The butterfly was printed twice and colored twice. The second butterfly was printed on CS scrap, colored, and then cut out. I adhered the butterfly by the body making the wings free to 'fly'.

Simply Serenade

Hello Everyone,

For today I will be playing along with Time Out Challenges, Double D, and NBUS card challenges. I am using a stamp from one of my favorite stamp companies called Peddlers Stamp. I have wanted to use this stamp for a long time and now I have the opportunity! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The violin, to me, is the essence of 'the arts'. It represents hundreds of years of history and culture. The instrument is both beautiful to hear and is visually stunning. I wanted to depict the music sheets as 'loved' and worn from practice and maybe a recital. This card can be for a myriad of occasions like graduations, congratulations, thank you, and the list goes on.

I started with the Peddlers Stamp and then colored it using a variety of alcohol markers. I then cropped and mounted the stamped image on brown cardstock. I cut around a piece of the violin and tucked the sentiment under the violin image for a nice touch.

I wanted to keep the sentiment simple, crisp, and not to compete with the amazing stippled background image.
Peddlers Stamps are so amazing and excellent quality. I just only hope my coloring is just as nice as the stamped image.

Challenges Entered:
My 'M' is music
NBUS- Challenge #14
First time using this stamp- 'Serenade' by Peddler Stamps

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. Lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. I hope you all have a fantastic day and please stay safe and healthy.

All the best,

Universal Language

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with NBUS, Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge, and The Paper Players. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I thought this was an appropriate sentiment considering we are all in a pandemic.
Smiling is a universal language full of hope and joy.

I white heat embossed the global flowers and its stand.
This way all the inking I did around the edges resisted the white embossing making it extremely easy and foolproof.

I used ZIG markers to place color down on the edges of the globe then went in with an aqua pen to feather out the color.
I wanted to use the color to complete the circular globe. Not too defined but the idea was still apparent.
