Jingle Bells

Hello Everyone,

For today I am going to playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch, City Crafter Challenge, and Inkspirational. One card is making a big punch tonight. Here is my card for today, enjoy.

Light embossing along with the silver shimmer of the bells (look at the bottom photo), glittery sentiment, and the vellum underlay on the sentiment creates a lot of texture but still CAS because of the simplicity of the design and large elements.

EEK...Moon

Hello Everyone,

For today I am going to be entering CAS(E) this Sketch, Fab Friday, AAA Cards and City Crafter Challenge. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The sky was done sponging Distress Oxide Wilted Violet, Black Soot, and Carved Pumpkin in an ombre pattern. You will also notice the moon I created is not one color or white. I have noticed when the moon is low on the horizon it seems to absorb the color of the sky. This is the look I was trying to achieve.
The stars were done by randomly dotting a jelly pen around the moon area. I also added water by literally clapping the droplets on the paper and then picking up the ink leaving a beautiful sky.
The sentiment was designed to look a bit distressed. It was actually a happy accident by die-cutting the letters using paper with a white core. It leaves behind a cut edge look which really drives the 'eek' home.
Challenges Entered:
City Crafter Challenge Blog: week #434- Halloween
Fab Friday: FabFri148- Color challenge
CAS(E) this Sketch: CTS #293
AAA Cards: CAS Game #126- Moonlight

I want to say how incredibly sorry I am for AAA Cards. They lost a wonderful and talented lady, Melissa Lane. I know it was sudden and it must be so hard to take it all in; so I wish you peace and comfort. Also, prayers for the family members who must be grief stricken. Healing, warm light is coming from my heart.

Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

Birthday Candle Shaker

Hello Y'all,

It is Fall so I feel like I can say y'all for a few weeks. So, today I am throwing my hat into City Crafter Challenge. Their challenge was to create a shaker card with a birthday theme. Also, I am entering Seize the Birthday challenge. This challenge has some delectable toppings of 'die-cuts or punches'. Here we go, enjoy!
The pieces were cut using a Cricut and a cut file from The Cutting Cafe.
They have a massive assortment of cut files for all cutters and digital stamps. It is a bit difficult to get around the site but it is worth it. Fantastic products!
I have had this in my head for quite some time and am so glad that it finally came to fruition.
Above: The background is made up of Designer Paper and the 'make a wish' sentiment was stamped. Also, the little 'let's party' tag was stamped. All other elements were either cut using a Cricut or die-cut. Left/Below: This card is an adorable shaped card. I think my soon-to-be eleven year old will like it. Right/Bottom: A detailed shot of the shaker portion of the card. The balloons ties are DMC coated in glue, partially dried, and formed. The glue was tacky enough to stick nicely to the card base.

Wild Rainbow

Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with CAS Colours & Sketches, City Crafter Challenges and Addicted to CAS. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Very fast card featuring a zebra pattern embossed in white.
I sponged on Distress Oxide Inks (Iced Spruce, Worn Lipstick, Squeezed Lemonade) lightly on cardstock. Wiped away the excess from the embossed areas.

The stamp I used is actually square.
The MISTI was invaluable! Stamped the pattern, embossed.
Flipped the paper 180 degrees and masked the embossed area and stamped.
You would never know.
The sentiment was stamped on vellum and aired dry.
The rhinestones mask the adhesive dots underneath.

Monogram

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with City Crafter Challenge blog. Their challenge this time is the good ole' Monogram! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The background comes from a foil negative of a preprinted background.
I used the Anna Griffen 'Mink' to the background. Her kit comes with pre-printed images ready to be foiled.
I have the positive image for a later project.
Above: When I got married I changed my initials, which in turn, changed my monogram. That was a bummer since I thought my premarital letters were so pretty. My married monogram, well I must say was less appealing. That is until I made this card. I love the mixed fonts of 'S'. It once again looks pretty and I am glad I did this exercise.  Below/Left: Using the negative (or waste) area gives this card the opportunity to see right through it. The shadow effect is so strikingly pretty. Bottom/Right: A close-up shot of my monogram. I used craft foam behind the scripted 'S' to pop up and stand out from the rest of the letters.

Challenges Entered:
City Crafter Challenge: Week 404: M- is for Monogram

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

Super Thank You

Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with City Crafter Challenge. I always like the idea of being a hero but in my day-to-day, I feel more like a human trying to get through the day. Then I cook dinner and all is right in the world. There is a certain satisfaction feeding your family. It is then I do feel like a hero. Anyway, here is my card for today, enjoy!

This was probably the easiest card to create. The city backdrop and sky rays are actually from designer paper. All I had to do was make the shield! Easy-peasy!
I tend to forget that I have more paper than any one person should ever own (I am sure you can relate). I always seem to forget about my designer paper. Well, not this time!! The paper helped me save a ton of time.
I did, however, create the shield. You know the one's superheroes hold to deflect any evil beams headed their way. I thought it was a perfect addition to anyone who has made a difference. This card will be on standby when the occasion presents itself.
 Challenges Entered:
City Crafter Challenge: Week 402- Be your own HERO!

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

Birds and Books

Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with City Crafter Challenge, Time Out Challenges and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Here is my card for today, enjoy!
I know, I know, I followed the inspiration photo from CCC almost to a tee, but I thought it was so cute and thought it would make a good card.
Thoughts?
The stack of books is from Stamplorations. The original image shows only three books with a coffee cup on top (see below). I decided to delete the cup, add a stack of books, and then finally add the bird.

preview-SheryRuss_GoodBooksandCoffee
The bow on up of the books is a separate element from the vertical twine holding the books 'together'. The tag is was placed under the bow and glued in place.
Challenges Entered:
City Crafter Challenge: Week 399- Book Smart
Simon Says Stamp: Monday Challenge- Grunge it Up
Time Out Challenges: #103- Hobbies (I chose reading)

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.
