Stacks of Leaves

Hello Y'all,

For today I will be playing along with Fusion and Creative with Stamps. Fall is in the air and fall is what I am celebrating. Here is my card for today; enjoy!

Outline of the leaves was done using two materials. One is Yupo paper and alcohol inks. I was testing some colors and thought these would create a nice texture. (Reference bottom leaf). Second, some of the die cuts were cut out of metallic sheen gold paper. Very fall, very festive.

The sentiment was heat embossed using gold metallic powder.
I stamped the perfect Autumn sentiment on the exact paper as the card base.

A detailed picture of the gold sheen on all the leaves. Notice not all the leaves have the color behind the outline. The leaves that were created using the Yupo paper were left with the outline. They were beautiful just the way they stood.

Acorns

Hello, Y'all,

Today I am playing along with Sketch Saturday and Inspired By... Fall beauty has never failed to awe me. This card does not disappoint the spirit of the season. Enjoy!

Lots and lots of visual texture. Examples of texture are the lace stamp embossed in white and sponged using Vintage Photo Distress Ink, the plaid background tag, and the wood foreground tag. 

I was challenged how to create an embellishment in accordance with Sketch Saturday.
A simple wooden oval embellishment seemed to be the perfect touch for solving the challenge.

The wooden texture tag is just delightful.
I stamped the acorn image, inspired by well...... Inspired By... and colored using Prismacolor colored pencils.
Adding the acorn stamp creates more texture without the bulk.

Photo Bomb

Hello y'all!

Today I am will be playing along with Color Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches. This stamp has been on my wishlist for a long time and now I can finally use it! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

I am pretty sure I will look in the Color Throwdown gallery and see a ton of leaf and tree cards. I wanted to think out-of-the-box for the color challenge. Then it dawned on me that I can use neutrals and browns to color the faces of this photo bomb stamp set by Mama Elephant. I used the orange and yellow for their shirts and in some cases, their hair.

The sentiment is probably what I like the most about this card.
I was looking for an oval die cut to use. Suddenly, a die cut fell out of my hands and onto the sentiment, diagonally! Gravity is a genius. It knew just what to do.

Down at the Farm

Hello Y'all,

Yes, it's still October! Today I will be playing along with Shopping your Stash, Hand Stamped Sentiments and The Card Concept. This card surprised even me! So here we are, my card for today, enjoy!

The image on this card was created using two stamps. The sunflower stamp is from Stampendous and the barn is from Inkadinkado (see below). Both stamps worked beautifully to create this peaceful scene.

The card was colored using Distress Oxide and traditional Distress Ink pad with an aqua pen.
I took color directly from the ink pad to the aqua pen and then to the 140lb watercolor paper.
This medium was easy to control and just downright fun!

A detailed shot featuring the sunflower and its visitor, the ladybug is a perfect companion to the old barn set. These two images by two different companies work together seamlessly to create a wonderful rural scene.

Happy Little Trees

Still October! So I am here to play along with AAA Cards and The Paper Players. You will see I took a lot of inspiration from Maaike's card featuring Bob Ross. Thank goodness Kindred Stamps ship quickly because here is my example using the same set. Thank you, Maaike! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This is a simple CAS card which was simply stamped, masked good ole' Bob and then stamped the trees and sentiment. Finished it off by coloring the images using Copic Ciao markers.
Just a quick note:
I adore this stamp set by Kindred Stamps called Happy Accidents.
This company is fabulous! Quick shipping, confirmation alerts, and a good quality product.

Bob Ross has always made it look so easy to paint.
In fact, I just showed an episode to my son and he was enamored by how he created those 'happy little trees'.

Back in April of this year, I got in a pretty bad car accident. Luckily no one was hurt but it shook me up. When I got home I needed to calm down and center myself again. So what did I do? I hopped on YouTube and cued up one of Bob Ross's episodes. Almost immediately I could feel myself relaxing. I have no idea what made me think to do this but it was a good call because he made all the difference that day. Thanks, Bob for your 'happy little trees'.

Two-in-One

Hello PINspirational Friends,

I am so happy to have you here today. We have a new challenge at PINspirational! But before I get to the challenge here is my card for today, enjoy!

Lots of color and a few surprises are part of this card. First, it opens from the top! Second, it uses two My Bestie images, our generous sponsor for this fortnight challenge. You can see the card is partially open which hints at what is inside.

The color of the sunflowers and our grateful girl on the front really lets this card stand out.
I used a flimsy sheet of kraft paper for the cover. This gave me an opportunity to fold the kraft paper and not add too much weight. I tried to think 'out-of-the-box' and I think I succeeded.
Now let's open the card!

Surprise! Yet another My Bestie image called Happy Fall.
The sunflowers along with the leaves are so festive and fun.
You can easily add a personal message on the doubled up kraft paper.
