Joyous Scene

Hello Crafty Friends,

A simple winter scene using a monochromatic
color scheme to create a serene and quite design.

The festive plaid PP was used for a pop of color and vibrancy.
A simple sentiment only adds to the simplicity of the design.

Well, that should do it for me! I do invite you to join our challenge at The Male Room in these coming weeks. I am looking forward to seeing what you create. Also, thank you so much for stopping by my little corner of the internet. I do appreciate every visit and if you aren't already a follower, I invite to join me in my adventures at TheGrandStampede. So until next time, take care and happy crafting.

All the best,
Shawna

Dry embossing the color band with a stitching folder adds to the
stitching theme of the card.

Above: Shading the teapot gives it a sense of dimension and depth.

Below: The sentiment is so sweet for this type of card.  Notice the highlighted word 'tea' having the same color as the stitched center flower and petals on the teapot.  I also wanted to highlight the close-up of the stitched flower. All you have to do is some paper piercing and then stitch.

I was doing a bit of research on the color symbolism of roses.
Upon further research, I realized red is an acceptable color for a sympathy card.
I added an extra page to the card for another added layer.
Also, when scribing a note you will not see the writing on the outside of the card.

Pretty Petunias

Hello, and welcome to TheGrandStampede!
It is that time again at MHK Designs. Our new December release is out and I am here to share the new 'Pretty Petunias' digi stamp set. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The gradation for this card was all done using photo editing software. The banner was also done
using the same software. But I think what makes this card so beautiful is the dry embossing on the cards base.

The black frame really sets off the black sentiment.
What a pretty image from such a pretty set.

You should have arrived here from Ruza's Blog.

I have decided to use two of our sponsors for this hop, Beccy's Place and Great Impressions. Here are my cards for today, enjoy!

sponsor for the holly plant image:
This card was created using Becky's Place holly plant from the set - Blessings of the Season
The sentiment was in my digi stamp stash and not sure where it came from.
However, it seemed fitting for this design.

I used the colors from the inspiration photo. I noticed the stark white against
the yellow'ish wall. This element was used for my card.
It is so hard to capture with a photo but I used a cotton ball and dry embossing to give the vase a bit of dimension. Run your fingers across the vase and you feel it pop up.
AND...

sponsor for the wreath and sentiment images:
This inspiration photo shows a beautifully decorated hearth.
This horizontal element is what I wanted to accentuate for this design.
Again the manilla color against the stark white remains the theme for this card too. Bits of holly peek out and framing our sponsored wreath and sentiment images called
 - Stylistic Wreath (wreath) and Magical Day (sentiment).

Below you will find detailed photos of the wreath image. I wanted to maintain the color palette from the photo inspiration throughout the card. So I stamped and colored the wreath using red to create a no line image. I decided to break up the sentiment for balance.
The bow had to have a bit of sparkle and the single enamel dot adds just enough color to bring your attention back to the border of the same color.

And now, here's your hop order~

Now get to hoppin'!
Your next stop is Shirley's Blog!

Don't forget to link up a project with us after completing the hop for an extra chance to win a mystery prize from one of our fabulous sponsors, too! HUGS and happy stamping to you all!

Thanks to all of you who have said such wonderful things about all the projects I have done over this past term. I am happy to announce that I will be remaining on the team for the next term. I am so excited to see the upcoming challenges and the inspiration it will provide. So until time, take care and happy stamping!!

All the best,
Shawna
