Ombre Pandas

Hello Everyone,

For today I am playing along with AAA Cards and their theme is to use ombre. Well, my card today is a bit snarky but I think it takes ombre to a new level. Here is my card, enjoy!

The squished pandas demonstrate the ombre effect
by 'feeling' the pressure put on these little bears.

This sentiment is meant for the poor pandas on the bottom of the pile. Snarky, yes, but there are times you feel the pressure of life not knowing what the future holds.

The bears were colored using Prismacolor pencils.

Loving Foxes

Hello All, 

For today I will be playing along with Double D and Retro Rubber challenges. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The rules of Retro Rubber Challenge is to state the age of the stamps being used. Well, I did extensive research I found the woods stamp is from Hero Arts and I acquired it 2 years ago. The exact date of the release is not known (at least not to me). The second stamp that was used is the sentiment 'Love you'. That stamp is from Peddler's Pack and again I have no idea when it was released. I have, however, owned this stamp for about two years.

This card shows a mixture of digital and rubber stamps.
The sunset was sponged using Distress and Oxide inks. Then the trees were stamped and embossed in black. The foxes were placed in the foreground and over the deer in the woods. 

The foxes were colored using Copic Ciao markers.
The die cut seemed appropriate for the theme of the card.

My daughter loves cats and space! How could I go wrong with this card?

I wanted to emulate a space feel by stenciling a bit of blue with the Just Flow stencil from Stamplorations. The sentiment was stamped using a retired set from a-muse.

CAS(E) this Sketch Guest Designer

Hello Friends,
I have some great and happy news!! I have been asked once again to guest design for CAS(E) this Sketch!! I am so excited, happy, and humbled. Thank you for letting me guest design alongside such a fantastically talented design team. So, here is my card for today, enjoy!!

Underneath the dry embossing and paint is patterned paper. I thought it would be a bit too busy so I covered a lot of it up. However, you can see its remnants on the distressed edges of the card.
I do enjoy both the visual and actual texture it has to offer.

Above: As you can see, I stuck close to the sketch.
I loved the design and thought it shouldn't be modified. Left/Below: You can see I decided to create a shaker card with the square shape. I also decided to use black and white chevron as the backdrop to the shaker. It was a lot of work for such a small detail but I think it was worth it. Right/Bottom: I think the succulent steals the show! I die cut the pieces out of patterned paper and colored the edges purple to coordinate with the rest of the design.

House of Cards Challenge

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to another month and the start of a new challenge at House of Cards. Here is my card for today, enjoy...

This image by Peddler's Pack was stamped using the MISTI for precise placement with VersaMark ink on black cardstock. Let the ink dry and then colored it using Prismacolor pencils. Lastly, I put the colored image back onto the MISTI and stamped it once more using black StazOn ink.

Dragonflies are so iridescent, peaceful creatures. When kayaking it always fills me with joy and wonder when one takes a ride on my boat. I tried to depict it here but I think Mother Nature does a much better job than I. 

This is a detailed shot depicting the detail of the stamp.
I think Peddler's Pack is one of the best companies when it comes to backgrounds.

MHKDesigns March Challenge

Welcome to another challenge at MHKDesigns. As always, the theme is ATG and to use the inspiration photo. First, I would like to share my card with you today, enjoy!

I was intrigued by the green glass jars in the inspiration photo.
I wanted to mimic those jars in my design. So, I stamped and die-cut jars out of green vellum added some kraft paper and twine.

Above: My favorite area of the card would have to be the beige gingham and black borders. It really allows the MHKDesigns digi to shine. The gingham also reminds me of Spring and getting back outside after a long Winter. Left/Below: The green vellum is translucent allowing you to see through to the stems. Plus, the extra layer gives it a more realistic look. Right/Bottom: The Fabulous Flowers set seemed like the perfect digi set for this challenge. I wanted to keep things neutral'ish to stay in line with the inspiration photo.
